5 Stars Toshiba is back in the LCD HDTV race
After reading, exploring, researching and hands on comparison I do not regret the purchase of this Toshiba LCD TV. I feel it is an outstanding value for a 52 inch lcd class tv. Toshiba’s new 5 gig processor combined with the 120Hz smooth’s action transitions as well as delivering outstanding darks and vibrant colors. My family room is well lit with sunlight during the day and there is no screen glare. The picture is very clear and sharp as well. The set is extremely impressive with an HD signal. It does almost as well with just a regular digital signal from cable/antena. I also hooked up a older JVC DVD player using just the old RCA cables and was extremely surprised at how good the picture looked. very close to looking as good as HD. I am getting Toshiba’s upscaling DVD player, its on order, and will be using it soon. The remote is a breeze to use. Its simple to find which format to use for displaying the signal. Toshiba has done their homework. They should get back some of their market share that they lost to Samsung. I would stack this LCD against any other 50+ inch LCD HDTV out there. I also am using a Philips home theater sound system and the audio is outstanding. The onboard speaker does an good job for every day viewing but won’t compair to a home theater system. I would buy this product again, hands down. Look closely at this TV if you are looking at 120Hz LCD HDTV’s. I also consitered the 55 inch 670U with the simulated 240Hz. Even if it was a true 240Hz I would have still opted for the 645U 120hz. I believe the 240hz to be over kill combined with the cost difference between the two. Over all I am extremely happy and well satisfied with this product.Toshiba REGZA 52XV645U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black

I have used Toshiba’s XD-E500 Upconverting 1080p Extended Detail DVD that I ordered from Amazon several times now. I am very pleased with this Toshiba product as well. The picture looks outstanding. HD quality. i am so pleased that I didn’t get a Blue Ray player but opted for an upconverting unit instead. At $64.00 the Toshiba is at the top of its game. I did purchsase the 2 year replacement policy as some of the reviewers stated that they have had failures with theirs. All in all I am enjoying watching tv and movies at home like I have never before. The Ragza link also enables the use of one remote use for both the LCD tv and the DVD player. Nice. Look at these products if you are researching before buying. Just an awesome home entertainment center paired together. I never thought I would enjoy staying home to watch movies more than going to a theater. My family loves movie night with us or their friends. Again, very pleased with both of these purchases and they both perform beyond my expectations.
4 Stars An excellent TV, but . . . .
I agree with all the positive reviews here, but if you need to use closed captioning, you might want to read Freiwil’s review of the 46-inch Regza at Toshiba REGZA 46XV645U 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black He is correct in saying that you have to use the cable box’s closed captioning option because CC is not transmitted through the HDMI cable. I called Toshiba to confirm this, and the rep said this is true. I really hate that because the TV has many CC options for font, size, and so on that are not available via cable TV. Also, others have mentioned a set-up issue (the set-up screen occurring every time you turn on the TV) on sets built before a certain date. The Toshiba rep admitted this is a problem, but she mailed a card to insert in one of the slots on the side to update the firmware and avoid this problem in the future. For the price, this is an excellent buy. The technician who set up our TV said that he thought the Sanyo top-of-the-line had gotten around the problem with CC. I hope Toshiba can do that! However, the higher end Sanyo we priced was $1000 more than the Toshiba.
5 Stars Excellent Television at an excellent price
We moved into a new house and were on a mission to buy 3 televisions. After looking at all the televisions out there in our price range, and looking at all the displays next to each other, this one instantly popped out at us. I know we aren’t supposed to judge a tv when it’s next to a bunch of others, but I couldn’t help looking at all the other ones and how my eyes just kept coming back to this model. The blacks seemed darker, deeper and the colors were more vivid and crisper. I ended up buying three 52″ for the house. I’ll start of by saying that the picture is beautiful. It has full side inputs and a lot of rear inputs. One thing to mention is if you are hanging it, the rear inputs are almost impossible to reach and since they point straight back and not downward, there may be a problem with some cabling. Toshiba, like any other manufacturer, put their light up logo right in front and under the screen so it’s in the way when you are watching tv, however, they were smart enough to allow you to turn it off. The control on the tv isn’t great – it feels cheap and doesn’t light up, but does glow in the dark. Changing between channels is pretty quick, not like some tv’s where you have to wait a couple seconds. Watching Planet Earth on BluRay is excellent, except when there is quick panning, such as when they pan to follow a hawk, you can notice some jitter because the refresh rate isn’t as fast. I haven’t seen a football game on it yet so I don’t know how that looks. The sound is not very good, but then again I am not sure of many tv’s that have great sound. I have to really turn up the volume in order to hear it clear. It does have different picture modes such as sports, theater, store, etc. I find store to be the brightest, most vivid and yet retain some really deep blacks, however, this mode is not energy compliant. The tv itself is very sexy. It features a matte screen and it’s anti-glare is very good, expecially in our master bedroom where windows are next to and in front of where the tv hangs. The casing is a glossy black which does tend to gets fingerprints when touching it. Overall, I think this tv is well worth the price and you will be very happy with the picture quality. Take it from someone who owns 3 of them!
5 Stars Toshiba 52XV645U REGZA LCD TV
I’d had misgivings about purchasing such a product online, but some friends had done so with no problems, so I decided to try it. The TV arrived in great shape! The delivery service unpacked it and put it into the entertainment center. I had to hook the cable box, DVD player, games up, but that was no problem. The picture is fantastic! I sometimes felt like I was standing on the side lines watching the opening weekend of college football.
I have to wonder why people let big box stores like Best Buy charge them to deliver and set up their TVs. It really is pretty simple. The Amazon price was $200 to $300 less than any of the local stores that I used to evaluate the various sets and prices, and there were no shipping charges.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with both the choice of the Toshiba TV and the decision to purchase it from Amazon.Toshiba REGZA 52XV645U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black
Sharp AQUOS LC32LE700UN 32 Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV
Sharp AQUOS LC32LE700UN 32 Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

The LE700 series again illustrates Sharp’s LCD technology leadership while also demonstrating its LED engineering advantages. Sharp’s UltraBrilliant LED system illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness and contrast levels and enables significant environmental benefits such as longer life expectancy, no heavy metals and lower power consumption. At the same time, the XGen LCD Panel utilizes an ingeniously devised pixel design that permits more light to pass through even while minimizing light leakage, with the result being the deepest black levels that AQUOS has ever achieved. Overall, the LE700 series shows that with Sharp, it’s not just LED… it’s AQUOS LED.

5 Stars No flashlighting, No banding. GREAT VALUE.
It’s been about a month now owning this TV and I am generally very happy with my purchase. In almost all aspects its just a wonderful TV and I think it’s certainly a no brainer in the current LED market. Here’s what I’ve found out about my new Sharp TV:
Pros:
It’s got the blacks you want. Plain and simple. Definitely impressive stuff compared to my other two LCD’s in the house.
Nothing dead, nothing stuck, no flashlighting, and no banding. Another reviewer mentioned these problems but from what I have experienced and what I have heard from others this is a near non existent problem.
Deep customization for adjusting hue, saturation, tint etc etc allowing for really fine tuning. Personally this has been more of a con but its only because I’m too cheap to pay for calibration.
Great, vibrant colors in general with a picture that has “Pop”.
Cons:
The included remote really isn’t that great. I don’t enjoy the buttons themselves nor the layout. Of the Phillips, Sanyo, and Toshiba’s I have used recently I would say this isn’t the worst but not as nearly as good as the Toshiba’s. Whatever, not much of a con but it’s true. You can always use a universal.
As good as the colors are…your gonna need some calibrating to get this one right. I am still trying to get what I want out of this guy but I’m positive it’ll work out in the long run. Mainly it’s an issue with flesh tones.
The speakers are honestly pretty poor. Even compared to my Phillips and Sanyo LCD’s these speakers just have a bit of a tinny sound. Not a huge deal but this is where I have knock half a star off on my overall review.
No matter what, this is a winning product. Highly recommended…especially in the 32″ market. GREAT VALUE. ~4.5 STARS / 5
3 Stars Great value if you can ignore its flaws.
Considering the technologies packed into this tv, its one of the better value among its class, if you can live with some of its flaws.
Positives: Very, very good picture quality after calibration. Blu-rays look especially stunning. Deep black, and very good black details.
Neutral: Slow tuner, changing analog and digital channels takes at least a couple of seconds. Average input lag. Using Guitar Hero 3 lag calibration tool, I was able to get 48 milisec in Game mode, and between 90 – 130 milisec in other modes.
Negative: Flashlighting. My tv came with 2 large spots, the size of my palm each. Reducing the backlight helps somewhat, but they’re clearly visible during dark scenes such as the cave scenes of Iron Man blu-ray.
Some recent Sharp panels had banding issues. This Genx panel supposedly corrected this problem. However, I’m disappointed to find out that it is still present at least on my tv.
I have an inch wide, faint verticle band on the left side of the screen. I didn’t detect this initially until watching the oil field burning scene in Baraka. Subsequently I noticed it came up during watching the US open, and Master and Commander. I can conclusively confirm that the banding is there with my tv when displaying a solid green jpeg. Again this banding is quite faint and very hard to detect, but once I did it’s very hard for me to ignore.
4 Stars Good Picture But Dark
We had a service rep from Sharp come out to look at the tv because the picture was so dark. He changed the display settings but otherwise said there was nothing that he could do. So I was curious what the electronic big box store had there displays set on. Basically the same thing: BACKLIGHT +14, CONTRAST +30, BRIGHTNESS 0, TINT 0, SHARPNESS +10. The salesperson at the big box store said that they have to reset all their display TVs higher than the factory settings because the pictures are dark. Huh(?) So I don’t know. We like the sharpness of the picture for most TV that we watch, but some night seens on this TV are hard to make out because they are too dark. Turning up the brightness just washes out the day seens.
4 Stars Great Picture. Terrible Sound.
I was in desperate need of a 1080p 32″ HDTV that would fit into the existing entertainment cabinet in my living room, which is exactly 31″ wide. You’d be amazed at how difficult it is to find a 32″ LCD that meets that requirement. Most are around 31.5″, which is very close but just wouldn’t fit.
Long story short: The set has gorgeous picture quality. No complaints at all about that. Unfortunately, the speakers are extremely tinny and just plain awful. The limited audio controls in the setup menu allow you to adjust treble and bass. I wound up pulling treble almost all the way to the bottom to temper the scratchy highs, and then nudging bass up a bit. But don’t turn the bass up too high, or the speakers will distort during loud noises. The best I can get it still sounds far worse than the 20 year-old standard-def set that this is replacing. This TV really requires the use of a separate audio system. In my case, that means I’m going to have to find a soundbar that will also fit my cabinet. I hadn’t planned on that.
The television is fairly easy to set up. My only disappointment there is that the set only offers a 4:3 pillarbox mode on standard-def input signals. HD input signals are locked to 16:9. Because the upconverting DVD/Blu-ray player I plan to use with this TV doesn’t offer a pillarbox mode either, I’m going to have to train my wife to set the player for 480p output whenever she wants to watch her beloved Gilmore Girls DVDs, and then set it back to 1080p afterwards. Or else she’ll have to watch them stretched, which neither of us finds acceptable. That’s going to be a big nuisance (with a long learning curve, undoubtedly). Why don’t TV manufacturers enable full aspect ratio control on both SD and HD signals?
The set’s a little expensive. But, again, gorgeous picture. I’m happy with the purchase overall, despite these caveats.
5 Stars a winner
got this about a week ago. the picture is amazing. very black blacks, extremely sharp color. paired with a sharp aquos blu-ray player, the aquos link system works very nicely. more than enough connections. menu/settings are pretty easy to access/understand. LED technology seems the way to go given the energy savings and life of the backlight, and sharp seems to have a winner here. interesting to me – if you upgrade to this from an old lcd hdtv, you’ll notice a huge difference in the heat coming from the tv.
the only downside are the speakers – they are clear enough but tiny and hollow. but this holds for every lcd tv on the market as far as i am concerned, so i can’t really hold this against sharp.
like the previous reviewer said, as long as it proves reliable sharp has produced a tv that gives the best sony, samsung, and other sets a run for their money – at a much lower price.

4 Stars Great picture for price
I’ve had this TV for almost 4 months and am very happy with it. The Picture is great for the price, with very vibrant colors and contrasts. The blacks are not as dark as you can find on more expensive TVs, but are as good as you can find in this price range. The DVD is noisy, which is really unfortunate. The Speakers are ok, but nothing great. I’d highly recommend this TV if you are looking for a TV that you will output sound to a stereo receiver. I actually found this at a price less expensive than the model without the built-in DVD player! Also, the high number of HDMI and other inputs is really fantastic. I do not regret this purchase at all!
4 Stars LG 32LG40 with DVD: my first HDTV
This is my first HDTV and I have installed it in a small room of my apartment. Thus far, I have no issue with this TV at all. (Please note: I am not a sports nut or avid watcher of TV.) Though it is 720p, I did a bit of reading beforehand: for this screen size, 720p suffices. As critiqued, the black did not seem as black as other TV sets I viewed in stores before purchasing, however, in my apartment I don’t notice that at all. Skin tones are very natural and colors are vibrant. The built-in DVD player works just fine. I do not notice any loud noices as reported in other reviews. For the money and specs, it is a good, value TV.
3 Stars good, but DVD is noisy
great design, easy installation, quite good picture, but the DVD is disturbingly noisy when watching a movie. It can be heard despite the sound of the movie.
5 Stars Pleased so far.
This was our second attempt to purchase a LCD television with a built-in DVD. The DVD player in the first one quit within the first week, and the warranty required us to send it out to be repaired, so we took it back and bought this brand instead. We have it in a bedroom and have had it about a year. It gets plenty of use, and so far the only problem we had was easily remedied. One day, when I tried to eject a DVD, it wouldn’t come out. I panicked, thinking this one was going out to. All I had to do was unplug the tv, wait a minute or so and plug it back in. It reset and works fine again. That was several months ago, and that was the only issue we’ve had with it. Picture seems fine, no little spots like we sometimes get on the larger LCD in the living room.
1 Star Amazon gets a zero
You provided the product as promised and on time. The reason you get a horrible review is because Amazon is horrible. Thier customer service rots. I ordered items direct from them that reached me weeks past the due date and they won’t respond to me requests to return them. I get the same form letter garbage every time I try to contact them. Amazon is crooked. Maybe they’ll find time to reply if I keep embarrassing them enough times.

5 Stars A750
Bought this at the beginning of the year. Simply put, buy this screen. You will not go wrong no matter the useage. It brings blue ray to life and makes my old dvd’s look very nice. I plan on having this one for a while despite the recent upgrades to the sreen width and refresh rate.
4 Stars Great TV except it only has one tuner, so no true PIP
This TV is great except it does not have a PIP that can switch between two HDMI inputs. You can not switch between two HDMI sources which should be standard in a $2k HD TV but it is not here. Read more on their web site. You can only watch an RF input while watching TV, playing a video game etc…

5 Stars HDTV IS BETTER THAN DESCRIBED!!! perfect in every way!
This is the very BEST TV that I have ever owned!!!
I am so excited to share a few things with you about my purchase.
DELIVERY:
Delivery was VERY smooth…make sure you get the “white glove” service if you don’t have someone to help you because the box is huge and it takes TWO men to carry it inside. PLUS the delivery men take it out of the box and plug it in and check it to make sure that it didn’t get damaged during transporting. Worth the extra money!
SETUP
I had Dish Tv come and set it up for me because I bought a new HD TV receiver and I am a woman…so better to have Dish do it than me trying to figure it out…however, the connections and the book look very simple after all!
PICTURE SETTINGS V/S FACTORY SETTINGS
The picture is so perfect, that I have never even wanted to adjust it…I think the “factory settings” are PERFECT, and wonderfully bright and clear and I am VERY excited over the picture quality of this Samsung TV.
TOUCH OF COLOR V/S GLARE?
Regarding the “Touch of Red Color”…I can’t even notice any red touch of color at all..it is SO SUBTLE… and there is NO glare or problem with it either in the daylight or the nightlight.
It’s PERFECT…don’t know what others were fussing about!!??
“FIVE DIFFERENT SIZES” of PICTURE…your choice!
Here is something no one has talked about (not in any of the previous reviews):
This is a feature that I LOVE SO MUCH…and that is: You have “Five different” sizes or ways that you can view your picture in! That is right. Here are the following sizes that you can control from your remote (even with my Dish remote):
1. you can use the “normal” size which takes on whatever the show is offering the program in…
2. You can use the “stretch” size which stretches the whole picture from side to side and it does fill out the “whole” screen…
3. you can use the “partial zoom” which “enlarges” the whole picture…
4. you can use the “zoom” size which really
enlarges the total picture on your screen… great if you have company that is sitting further away…
5. You can use the “gray bar” which has an about “4″ gray stripe on each side with the picture in the middle (no gray strips on the top or bottom…and this looks very nice).
The “normal size” picture sometimes fills up the whole screen but sometimes has “black “4″ strips on the sides of the picure (like the gray bars size), but it depends on the program or movie you watch…because the “normal size”
will change with the program…but you can change it to any of the “5 different size settings” with your remote…
I LOVE THIS FEATURE!!! Keeps you from getting bored…but most of all you can try all the different 5 sizes to see
which one makes the picture look the best…LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!…and can’t believe that no one ever mentioned this
in their reviews that I read.
WHY I BOUGHT A SAMSUNG
The reason I bought this brand is because I went to several large stores selling TVs and looked and compared all
their tvs that were displayed next to each other…WOW…the Samsung totally BLOWS ALL the other brands OUT OF THE WATER PEOPLE!!! Go and see for yourself… I had to laugh, that at one store, they had the Samsung tvs and the Samsung Blu-Ray player completely far away from the other brands…or they would probably not be able to sell the others!!! LOL
DO I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE?
Now I will tell you that I ABSOLUTELY made the BEST choice by buying this Samsung HDTV.
I am in BLISSFUL HEAVEN here all day!!! What an advanced television! LOVE IT!!!
4 Stars It’s all good except for…..
The touch of Red. There is no touch of red except for the red plexi glass around the frame. No function. Just plastic. Too many functions that have no or little use unless you don’t have a computer. All that doesn’t mean much though. The picture is excellent. It really is astounding to see the difference between my 40″ Magnovox. I had no concept of how bad the picture was until I got my new 52″. Old movies look like they were re-shot. Love it.
1 Star Samsund LCD Tv
TV worked great for three weeks, then the screen stopped working. They came and fixed it a few weeks later, still didn’t work. Then they wanted to come fix it again. Had to argue for a replacement, still haven’t received one 6 weeks later. THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They did nothing in terms of service recovery.

5 Stars Don’t believe Amozon about financing offers!
This review is not about the TV which is great. It’s to expose their fraudulent finance offers. One of the selling points for me was their 24 month no interest financing offer.THEY NEVER HONORED THAT OFFER!After I ordered the TV I started receiving e-mails from Amazon to the effect that my order was canceled. When I called to inquire why they said my Amazon store card was stolen.I told them this was impossible as I had not received it yet!I applied for it the same time I purchased the TV.I had to reapply for another card. This put me passed the deadline for the financing offer.By the way it took at lest an hour to get that straightened out as I keep getting passed back and forth between Amazon customer service and the credit department.Neither department wanted to take responsibility.I then confirmed with the representative that I would still get the same financing offer. To which she agreed.
When I received my first bill there was a finance charge.I called and the rep said it would be corrected and credited. It was not.I had another finance charge on my next statement.I then called GE who is a separate entity and does the financing for Amazon.I was told that they didn’t offer a 24 month no interest financing. He offered me a 18 month no interest financing.I decided this would be the best offer I could get so I took it.I’m just waiting to see if that will actually be honored!
Bottom line.Amazon can not legally make any financing offer as they don’t have a credit department.TV’s purchased on credit from Amazon are financed through GE.
5 Stars Samsung LN46B750 240Z LCD HDTV
My wife and I are extremely pleased with our new TV. The price was well under any local prices that we shopped. With the year and no interest payback, it was a perfect time to upgrade. The picture is amazing! The only thing we don`t like is having to by the Samsung $80.00 part so that it can be wireless and online.
5 Stars Great Picture
I checked out many different 46″ TV’s and I found this to have the best picture of the bunch. Picture was great out the box and some of the other reviews may have been to critical of the picture quality. The blacks were black and the reds clear. The instructions were a little confusing and switching between modes was confusing.
5 Stars Awesome
This tv was really cool no problems, it was packaged good cuz the box had a dent but the tv didnt even had a scratch. the tv has many usful features like u can like it with ur computer throught a network and it can go online for updates and widgets. color is great and so is the sound. well no complains here hope your is as good or better for u.
