5 Stars Great value-great TV
I bought this TV for our bedroom; it replaced an old cumbersome set. We have cable, so we are thrilled to be able to get most programs in either analog or digital format. I note the sound is not as loud in the digital programs; however, it is more than adequate for bedroom use. I love being able to play DVDs on the set, and the clarity and color are certainly great….in my opinion! The set would be a little too large for use in my kitchen, but it is great for the purpose for which I bought it.
5 Stars High Quality For My Uses
It’s the only TV in my small apartment – a larger screen would overwhelm both room size and wall hangings. Don’t let the low pixel count scare you off; AT THESE DIMENSIONS picture quality is high. Sound quality is good for voice. As for music. it’s hardly in a minor league team for my table-top BOSE.
3 Stars Perfecet for Harold Lloyd fans
A number of reviews of this TV focus on the lack of audio volume. I ordered the TV assuming that these people were simply fussy. In fact, they are spot-on. The TV is awfully quiet. That said, it’s still lightweight, has a good picture, etc. So if you’re willing to hook up external speakers, or watch silent movies (or if you live alone) – go for it!

I have been using this tv almost every night and day ,I am pleasantly writing this review at 6 AM lying in bed ,,,The TV is Mounted on the wall about 40 inches above my bed ,in direct eye contact level ,and I have my IBM Laptop connected with a 15 ft cable and the switching between the TV,,ComputerMonitor ,and dvd player is very simple , The unit even plays DVD G discs which are Karoke disk with grafics to read the song words across the screen.
I mounted the unit on the same bracket that I had my 15 inch lcd mounted and it works fantastic . Toshiba 22LV610U 22-Inch 720p LCD TV with Built in DVD Player, Black]]
4 Stars Enjoying my new flat screen
The new flat screen is a trim addition to my TV viewing experience. Good picture quality and less space taken up on the cabinet top. Have not tried the DVD player yet but it appears to be a great way to have a 2 in 1 experience.

2 Stars disappointed
I purchased this television six months ago. I do not have cable and use an antenna. This tv has a sturdy frame and a very clear picture as well as first rate sound quality for a small screen television; however, on at least one of the major networks this television loses sound and sometimes picture roughly every twenty minutes. I have to move the antenna and/or turn the set off and back on to restore normal broadcast. I have moved this set to different locations and even watched it at a friend’s house to rule out the possibility of interference. Nothing has helped. I spoke to a repairman and he says that there’s probably a problem with the tuning mechanism and that I’m most likely stuck with a lemon. I bought a Sony thinking that I would get quality. I was wrong. Foolishly perhaps, I just purchased another Sony. This time a 22-inch Bravia L-series. So far, so good. No problems.
4 Stars This TV Met My Expectations
I purchased this TV on 6/7/09 to fit on my kitchen counter under cabinetry. It had to replace my existing 13″ CRT. Finding an LCD HDTV with a large enough screen, but short enough to fit under the counter, was a major problem. This Bravia gave me the largest screen available that would fit.
From reading reviews prior to my purchase, I had concerns about quality of picture, stability, look, etc, but I have been quite happy with my purchase. I have it connected to Time Warner Cable, exclusively (I don’t watch over the air HDTV). Compared to my old CRT, the picture quality is very good – color is good, sound is good. The fact that it is 720p hasn’t been a problem because the screen is still pretty small. Point is, I’m not demanding a lot from the TV, but I don’t accept crap – its performing more than well enough for a kitchen TV. One small complaint – it takes about 10 sec to warm up and get a picture when you turn it on.
I have also used it as a second monitor to my macbook pro laptop. It works fine.
It isn’t a beautiful TV, but it isn’t too ugly, either. I bought the white/silver combo. As of July 11, 2009, no technical issues, or failures.
3 Stars Color of TV
When purchasing this TV – no matter what the color of the television says in the description (ex. black, silver, or any other color) – that color will only be on the face of the TV, and the rest of it will be white. If you are aware of this, then you will not be shocked or disappointed when you unpack it. This is an example of a very poor description of a TV. The TV itself is fine.
5 Stars Ed
Good reliable TV. I mounted this TV in my motorhome although the instructions from Sony state that the TV should not be installed in a moving vehicle. I mounted it to a wall mount and it works just fine. Good sound and picture. The only drawback is that I move my motorhome often and the TV autotune takes up to 50 minutes to do an Autosearch to reset available channels in the area.
My old set took only about 5 minutes. Otherwise we love the set and would recommend it.
5 Stars Not a bad TV….
I got this TV to do two jobs. First was to act as separate computer monitor and as a second TV. The SONY does both jobs very well.

5 Stars Great TV
Another excellent, high quality Sony Bravia. Everything it claims to do it does and does even does it better. This makes a perfect bedroom TV. Installation was simple, although except for the power cord, there was no cabling included. Make sure you connect any antenna you have before you turn it on for the first time. What more can you say, it’s a Sony Bravia.
4 Stars Sony 22″ LCD HDTV
Very nice TV; just wish I didn’t have to buy it online, but it apparently is not available for purchase at a store.
5 Stars Great Product
Sleek design, and the picture quality is excellent although you may have to fine tune the color to suit your preferences. Easy to install with one caveat – I didn’t have the antenna ready when I began the automatic installation, and there was no way to return to the beginning, so I was stuck and had to get some help to continue. The operational manual didn’t cover this, either. My advice is to have everything ready before you hit the ‘on’ switch to set up the first time. That’s my only gripe – other than that, the picture and sound quality are excellent for the size and there are loads of options available for watching. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.
5 Stars excellent product
terrific picture quality — easy to install — initial setup is fully automated although it picks up a gazzillion channels including two for each of those channels having HD [so a next step requires deleting bunches of channels picked up during the initialization ]
has all the features that anyone but a total geek would want — the adjustments and selections are simple to incorporate
all in all — a well engineered product
Samsung LN40A550 40 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
Samsung LN40A550 40 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

The SAMSUNG LN40A550 delivers the sharpest, most realistic picture quality you’ve ever seen. Full HD (1080p) contains 1.5 times more scanning lines than conventional HD TVs. That means more pixels, more details and a better picture. A resolution that is approximately twice as much as conventional HD TVs creates the most perfect picture imaginable. Contrast and brightness levels achieve new heights in this LCD TV. Watch movies and shows come to life with enhanced details in very dark or bright scenes. Enjoy a more realistic, sharper picture quality that’s sure to catch your eye with 30,000:1 contrast ratio. One of the most important features for an LCD panel is the pixel response time. Response time refers to the amount of time it takes a pixel to “refresh” itself-to go from being active to being inactive, (ready to be re-activated). The lower the milliseconds, the faster the response time. A very fast 5ms response time virtually eliminates any blurring and gives you smooth-motion action scenes. Want to get more entertainment out of your TV than movies and shows? With our Wiselink USB connection, you can easily and quickly hook up your MP3 player or digital camera and entertain family and friends with a photo slideshow set to music. 5 Stars Best 60Hz 1080p HDTV Under $1000!
I did a lot of research looking for our perfect High Definition television for about a year before finally making our purchase. Because we have only one television in our house we wanted to be certain of our choice. Sure, you can spend more money for the same size television with similar specs, but why would you?
The Samsung LN40A550 has a stellar full hi-def 1080p picture for a 40″ HDTV running at only 60Hz. After seeking out an HDTV for many moons that would satisfy our viewing needs we had basically settled on one of three options: a Sony Bravia, a Sharp Aquos or the Samsung television which we now own and couldn’t be happier with. The resolution is superb, the colors are rich and performance is rock solid.
From the opening chime you’ll be delighted until you turn it off and the set chimes a second time (there is the option to turn this off if it annoys you). There are three HDMI inputs and a PC input (handily located on the side for quick laptop connectivity); we currently only utilize two HDMI ports, one for an Xbox 360 which doubles as our upconverting DVD player and one for our HD DVR/Receiver.
The set up is a snap, and if you’re familiar with menu schemes, you’ll quickly find yourself navigating with ease. We picked this set up on sale for under $800 after waiting a long time for prices to come down and I see no viable competition for it in the $1100 and under range. If you require more HDMI inputs or demand a 120 Hz picture, then I can’t quite recommend this for you, but if you have typical family needs and want a rock-solid beautiful television for under $1000 you can do no better. Buy it. You’ll be glad you did.
5 Stars Samsung is the best!
I bought this to put in our bedroom and we find our self’s watching TV more in there than the living room! I’ve always had Sony’s, but now I’m definitely going for Samsung. Great LCD television all around!!
5 Stars Samsung and Amazon two great companys
Before purchasing my product i had not dealt with either company before.I was slightly appresensive about dealing with companies I was not familiar with. However after deciding
to make my purchase I decided to give them a try.I have no regrets about making that decision.Amazon aided my decision by provideing me with extensive information about my product. The price they offered was perfect for me because I am on a fixed income.I heard of Samsung but had never owned one of their products. The first Samsung we purchased was for our living room a 52inch flat screen LCD HD TV.I was very pleased with the quality of every acpect with the exception of the sound. We added extra speakers and the sound is surperb. The features of the TV work perfect for us.I was so pleased we purchased a second Sumsung 40inch LCD HD TV for the bed room with the same features as the first one.I would highly recommend both companies to anyone who is interested inculding my family and friends.
1 Star Buy something else
Please consider another brand of lcd. The sound on this set is inferior to almost all other sets on the market. The set stopped working completely one and a half months after the 1 year warrenty. I made a mistake and wish you do not. Sincerely…..Dennis
5 Stars Nice TV for the price
We got this TV for 6+ months and everything is good and meets our expectation. Relatively speaking TV speakers might be the weakest link, but we hook it up with external speakers so that’s not a problem for us.

5 Stars Toshiba 26 Inch LCD TV with Built in DVD
TV arrived in excellent condition. It was easy to set up and is very attractive. Excellent picture and sound.
5 Stars Excellent LCD combo
I do not have any negative feedbacks on this product. This is a good LCD combo. Since there are not many on the market. I am not expecting excellent sound nor picture, it just looks fine and it is ok for my daughter’s bedroom.
4 Stars Good HDTV/DVD player, especially for the price
This TV is very simple to use. Take it out of the box, turn it on, auto search channels, change picture mode to “Movie” and you have a decent TV. It sounds a little better than most HDTVs, but you buy an HDTV for the picture. If you want HDTV sound, you have to add a multi-speaker home theater system. The picture is good with “Movie” setting. Out of the box it resorts to “Sports” setting that is just awful. I even tried it with an HD football game and it blurred the grass. Picture suffers from some motion blur, but IMO all LCD TVs have motion blur. The remote is very intuitive – you can change aspect ratio on the fly. QAM tuner works well, so it plays nice with cable.
The DVD Player is what sets this combo TV apart from the pack. It upconverts DVDs and Divx beautifully. That’s right it plays Divx!!! It also plays CDs, VCDs, Picture CDs, and multitrack WMA CDs.
This TV would be great for anyone building a home theater system in a confined space or confined budget. Thinking dorm room, first apartment situation. The built in DVD/CD player could be hooked to any home theater receiver with speakers via Digital Component Out.
3 Stars Toshiba Audio Issues
Great TV except for the audio is just not that loud. Even all the way up it just is hard for me to hear.
2 Stars Pathetic Sound quality
Picture quality good, DVD combo seems to be having issues , but can manage.
The Sound is horrible , even with the maximum volume you can not enjoy a movie.
Not worth paying around 400 for this.
