4 Stars According to Samsung – NOT 120 Hz
I’ve been looking for an affordable lcd with 120Hz refresh. I came across this unit, seeing that the description, in multiple places, claims 120Hz. I also went to Samsung’s (the manufacturer) page for this model. It explictly says the unit does NOT run at 120Hz.
Check it yourself in the Specifications page – ” LCD 120Hz = No”
3 Stars Not what I expected!

Now to the TV. The antenna that I ordered has yet to arrive so I used my cable connection to define the quality of the picture and sound. I must say that the cable source provided a picture and sound just about as clean as I could expect for a 720 resolution TV. It is the same overall picture as the LN22A650 I have installed in computer room except it is has tad smaller picture and footprint.
The sound is nothing to brag about; however, it is not tinny nor full. It is the sound provided by two small speakers. I can hear all that I need to hear for a kitchen TV.
From a comparative aspect, I would suggest that a LN19A650 is better than this LN19B650 because the footprint of the A is bigger than the B thusly providing more support. Neither stand Swivels, so no issue. Touch of Color (ToC) is no real issue except it appears to cost more for some reason. Profit I think would be the answer. Personally I would prefer a small bezel compared to the bezel on a B or A. I just do not like paying more for clutter such as the ToC provides.
If you are reading this for the first time you may not want to read the below even though it might have something to do with your decision making processes. I am pleased with my purchase regardless of my somewhat aside comments. It does everything that I bought it for.

I begin this review with the full intent of returning to complete it as soon as I get all the pieces together. Missing from my list is an antenna so that I can get airborne TV. The location of the TV will be such that my local Cox cable cannot or better yet will not make a connection for me that has to be split. They are more than willing to drop another line at the current monthly recurring cost which their policy. So I am going with airborne instead and that requires an antenna and it might be shipped between now and August 10 according to Amazon.
The TV, Boss. The TV. O.K. Since I have no idea about the TV working yet, I do have a few comments about elements about the TV. This is my third LN650 from Samsung. The other 2 are exactly what I ordered. This one is not as advertised by Amazon and Samsung. Amazon said it has a Swivel Base. Mine does not even though it is a Model LN19B650. Samsung technical staff said it does not come with a swivel stand. Additionally, Amazon said it is a RED Touch of Color. Mine is a BLACK Touch of Color. Samsung said it should be Gray (or is that Grey?). Luckily, I had a modicum of innate hook-em-up experience and setting the TV up was fairly easy especially compared to a full blown high definition TV. I fully expected Amazon and Samsung to no less tell the buyers the truth. Others have written the same or similar comments about the lacking items. What else is missing? I sure hope that I will not have to depend on my local monopoly to provide the source. When I get the antenna and hook it up I will fill in the missing and admittedly the most important matters: The TV itself.
3 Stars pluses and minuses Samsung 19″ TV
Nice looking, sleek TV. Picture quality and station reception is superior to a Sharp brand in my possession. Problem with fit of power input in back of TV; the plug is NOT a good fit, and I had to tape it down to get the set to work. Sound quality is harsh and tinny. I would have second thoughts about buying it again.Samsung LN19A450 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Black
2 Stars Audio is very week
I purchased this TV last week. The audio is so week you can hardly hear it turned all the way up.
Also, you can not read the controls on the front of the TV. I called Samsung and we reviewed all of the steps re: volume and the volume did’t change. The Samsung Rep. recommended that I purchase a Receiver to improve the volume. I told Him that I also own another 19″ LCD HDTV and it has four times the volume. So I guess thats just the way it is. The picture is really great. I do plan on returning the Samsung and get the other brand. I am very disappointed. I thought the
Samsung was the best.

The product is great except Amazon has incorrectly listed the item. This model is not “touch of color” Red as its listed. That was the prior model. The corrent modal [this one] is “touch of color” grey.

1 Star Low quality
Image quality is ok for watching VHS movies, but even normal DVDs look poor through this device. Fuzzy and blocky images. DVDs look like an old VHS through this device. On a positive note, it is easy to use.
1 Star Very bad quality…!
This product isa mess, this functions in display won’t work properly and the image is not good, don’t buy it even under 10 bucks !
1 Star It’s the thought that counts…
While I was eager to try it, and the price was good… the first one failed to work altogether out of the box, and the 2nd failed after a week. I love small Chinese companies for their willingess to try and impersonate big corporate products… but the results is always the same. Poor quality and utter failure to deliver as the more illustrious counterparts. Maybe some day small chinese electronics will actually all work, but until then I’d recommend finding a VCR or DVDR– spend the money for a tuner that works if you need one
or a graphics card that has S-video or some other output that works with your tuner-less monitor.
1 Star Yankeyboy
I couldn’t make this tuner work. There were no directions included but it seemed pretty straight forward. I wrote the manufacturer they were no help at all. I hooked it up to a CRT monitor, it scanned for about 20 minutes and found 3 stations I think. My Tv gets six and my Tv converter box gets 26 with the same antenna. It’s hard to tell since none were clear enough to watch. The sound was terrible. The reception was like UHF with no UHF antenna. While at the same time in the same spot my antenna reception for both my Tv and my converter box is excellent. When I wrote to the seller they answered and agreed to take it back. They also educated me to the difference between ATSC-non-digital broadcast, which this device is, and NTSC which is digital. I’m astonished they are still marketing a product that will be obsolete in a matter of weeks. Beware!
4 Stars Nice little gadget
Functional and small. I like this little gadget. The video-out port is kind of tight so the connector will fall out if you don’t insert it right, otherwise a good item for the money.
