I bought this “Vantage Point CGUPM12-B Universal Front Projector Mount – Black” for my Mitsubishi HC6500 Projector and the first impression is it a very small item as compared to the price. A simple Project mount could be delivered way cheaper than this. But the good thing is that it’s a good build. Easy to move all direction makes it very convenient for installation and adjustment of the projector to the Media room.

I bought this for my black Infocus x9 projector. Everything matched up perfectly, the quality is great. It is very adjustable and can be locked in any position. I’m considering ordering another for my other projector. Only problem is the price is a bit steep.
5 Stars Versatile and easy installation
Found the perfect position on the wall for this mount. We have an option of Ceiling or wall mount with this very heavy duty Projector mount. Easy 3 long screws and big enough diameter we have no doubt this will stay put. No vibration with this heavy metal mount. The picture does not show how strong this mount really is. I searched long and hard before finding the perfect mount. Would buy another if I ever needed one. It is the most versatile and comes with an optional length arm. Very thoroughly thought out product.

For starters, in the interest of full discretion, this unit is my only experience with a projector mounting system. That being said, I would highly recommend this mount to anyone, veteran or novice, looking for a projector mount. On to the specifics. This mount is sturdy. I’m lucky enough to live in a loft apartment, with exposed beams (approx. 8″x12″). After installing the 3 long screws for the mounting plate, I gave it the ol’ “wiggle test”. It did not budge. Long story short (maybe a bit late for that) it passed the I’m hanging, all 205 lbs, from this projector mount test. This mount is very adaptable. It can be used as a wall or ceiling mount. The 12″ extension is easily left out of the configuration for close to ceiling mounts. All the hing points are secured with a main hinge bolt, and a locking bolt. I found that the locking bolt when tightened full down will hold the projector in what ever position it is in, but with a little nudging it can be moved ever so slightly to whatever orientation it needs to be in. Once the secondary locking screws are tightened down this thing does not move. It also comes with a number of screws and 2 sets of arms to attach most any projector I could imagine. On the remote chance you have a projector with mounting points that are a completely obscure thread size and count anyone comfortable with hardware could be in and out of Home Depot or Lowe’s in 10 min with the parts needed, less $2 tops. All in all excluding some hyper advanced pneumatic operated, robotic ninja, space monkey navigated, projector mount; I cant see someone really beating this unit in terms of strength, adaptability, and cost.
P.S. To the reviewer that complained that he or she was having to use the screws that hold the projector to the mount, to adjust it, please spend your free time making a friend with the smallest understanding of mechanical know-how, not confusing people with sub-par Amazon reviews.

Question: Why it fits so much brand projector?
Answer: It is adjustable mount! Please see those holes drilled on the bar. You may adjust the span between screws by fasten them to different hole. That is the reason.

I like the product but the initial information did not give enough detail concerning installation.
If I had not mounted projectors before, I could have been easily frustrated because
it did not detail initially that an additional base would be needed to install.

Great product. Unlike the disastrous PRS-UNV, whose adjustment screws never got tight enough to hold the PJ in one place, this mount is bomb-proof. The geared mechanisms that control pitch and roll are high-quality and stay put.
5 Stars Outstanding mount
I had to replace my JVC SX21 for a new JVC DLA-RS10 and my old custom mount would not fit my new projector. When I had installed the original projector I had planed it to the max. Had out the trig formulas and it was a perfect set up.
Problem was that the mount that I had – although expensive and infinitely adjustable would never hold the projector tight. Believe me I tried. There was always a bit of creep every month or two.
Installed this mount in a few minutes, adjusted the knobs and tightened the mount in place. Perfection! No movement, people can jump on the floor above and this thing is rock solid. Set it and forget it. My only complaint is that it took this long for someone to think of this.
If you have done your research and plan on installing your projector yourself as I did know that it uses industry standard 2 1/2″ pipe to drop down from the ceiling. it could not be easier. Screw in the top part. install the base to the projector and it slides into place. Lock it and adjust. Just brilliant!

If you have a large projector like the Panasonic PT-AE3000U, this is the ceiling mount for you. I had my projector mounted in less than an hour. Instructions are straight-forward and easy to follow. If you are investing 2500.00 in a projector as I did, don’t skimp on the mount.

As an A/V installer I’ve used several different makes and models of projector mounts; but none has the flexibility of this precision geared mount.
