2 Stars disappointed
I purchased this television six months ago. I do not have cable and use an antenna. This tv has a sturdy frame and a very clear picture as well as first rate sound quality for a small screen television; however, on at least one of the major networks this television loses sound and sometimes picture roughly every twenty minutes. I have to move the antenna and/or turn the set off and back on to restore normal broadcast. I have moved this set to different locations and even watched it at a friend’s house to rule out the possibility of interference. Nothing has helped. I spoke to a repairman and he says that there’s probably a problem with the tuning mechanism and that I’m most likely stuck with a lemon. I bought a Sony thinking that I would get quality. I was wrong. Foolishly perhaps, I just purchased another Sony. This time a 22-inch Bravia L-series. So far, so good. No problems.

4 Stars This TV Met My Expectations
I purchased this TV on 6/7/09 to fit on my kitchen counter under cabinetry. It had to replace my existing 13″ CRT. Finding an LCD HDTV with a large enough screen, but short enough to fit under the counter, was a major problem. This Bravia gave me the largest screen available that would fit.

From reading reviews prior to my purchase, I had concerns about quality of picture, stability, look, etc, but I have been quite happy with my purchase. I have it connected to Time Warner Cable, exclusively (I don’t watch over the air HDTV). Compared to my old CRT, the picture quality is very good – color is good, sound is good. The fact that it is 720p hasn’t been a problem because the screen is still pretty small. Point is, I’m not demanding a lot from the TV, but I don’t accept crap – its performing more than well enough for a kitchen TV. One small complaint – it takes about 10 sec to warm up and get a picture when you turn it on.

I have also used it as a second monitor to my macbook pro laptop. It works fine.

It isn’t a beautiful TV, but it isn’t too ugly, either. I bought the white/silver combo. As of July 11, 2009, no technical issues, or failures.

3 Stars Color of TV
When purchasing this TV – no matter what the color of the television says in the description (ex. black, silver, or any other color) – that color will only be on the face of the TV, and the rest of it will be white. If you are aware of this, then you will not be shocked or disappointed when you unpack it. This is an example of a very poor description of a TV. The TV itself is fine.

5 Stars Ed
Good reliable TV. I mounted this TV in my motorhome although the instructions from Sony state that the TV should not be installed in a moving vehicle. I mounted it to a wall mount and it works just fine. Good sound and picture. The only drawback is that I move my motorhome often and the TV autotune takes up to 50 minutes to do an Autosearch to reset available channels in the area.

My old set took only about 5 minutes. Otherwise we love the set and would recommend it.

5 Stars Not a bad TV….
I got this TV to do two jobs. First was to act as separate computer monitor and as a second TV. The SONY does both jobs very well.

5 Stars Sylvania 19″ TV with DVD player HDTV Digital
This is a great TV. Price was right and only 2.99 for next day shipping. Was here on time. Color is beautiful and clear. My grandson

walked in and commented on the clear color picture.

Easy set up. Just added antenna and plugged it in. No problems.

Would recommend this TV to anyone. I have it in my bedroom which is 13 X 17 feet. Just right size.

4 Stars Nice For the Price
This is a nice item for the price. It has a nice picture and sound quality. I was replacing a 13′television that I used to watch the news and sports on. It is a nice size. I think the DVD player is good being in the middle of the set and not on the side. It seems easier to put the dvd in. I think that the remote might not be great for someone with small hands, but it works well for me. I did have to purchase a new antenna, and HDTV one. I would suggest putting the antenna away from the tv like by a window. Once I got the antenna all the stations came in.

5 Stars Nice picture, sound is ok, dvd/cd player is good
We got one but have since returned it for one without a dvd player (same hdtv, sans player). THE REASON is that we didn’t want to have to use 2 remote controls, one for Direct TV and one to power on the tv and control the volume. After long conversations with both Direct TV and Sylvania there was no way to get this COMBO TV to work thru the Direct TV remote. Other than that the TV quality is very good and the sound is acceptable – certainly not a device built for high quality CD listening.

    4 Stars Good TV-DVD combo
Very good combo TV-Player. Batteries included for the remote, but you will have to get your own cables to hook up to cable TV, PC, or other external devices. No big deal, just be aware. You’ll also need a philips screwdriver to attach the stand using the 3 supplied screws. Worked fine with an 8-foot cable I had for cable TV. This is for the kids’ room and I had no need to hook up to surround sound or any other external devices. Picture and sound very good on both HDTV and DVD functions. A little slow changing channels but not that bad.

    4 Stars Office TV
I was given this tv for a gift. I love the flat screen and the picture is great for a small tv. I love shopping at Amazon as their prices are very good compared to some others around.

    5 Stars Great TV
Another excellent, high quality Sony Bravia. Everything it claims to do it does and does even does it better. This makes a perfect bedroom TV. Installation was simple, although except for the power cord, there was no cabling included. Make sure you connect any antenna you have before you turn it on for the first time. What more can you say, it’s a Sony Bravia.

4 Stars Sony 22″ LCD HDTV
Very nice TV; just wish I didn’t have to buy it online, but it apparently is not available for purchase at a store.

    5 Stars Great Product
Sleek design, and the picture quality is excellent although you may have to fine tune the color to suit your preferences. Easy to install with one caveat – I didn’t have the antenna ready when I began the automatic installation, and there was no way to return to the beginning, so I was stuck and had to get some help to continue. The operational manual didn’t cover this, either. My advice is to have everything ready before you hit the ‘on’ switch to set up the first time. That’s my only gripe – other than that, the picture and sound quality are excellent for the size and there are loads of options available for watching. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

    5 Stars excellent product
terrific picture quality — easy to install — initial setup is fully automated although it picks up a gazzillion channels including two for each of those channels having HD [so a next step requires deleting bunches of channels picked up during the initialization ]

has all the features that anyone but a total geek would want — the adjustments and selections are simple to incorporate

all in all — a well engineered product

5 Stars Toshiba 26 Inch LCD TV with Built in DVD
TV arrived in excellent condition. It was easy to set up and is very attractive. Excellent picture and sound.

    5 Stars Excellent LCD combo
I do not have any negative feedbacks on this product. This is a good LCD combo. Since there are not many on the market. I am not expecting excellent sound nor picture, it just looks fine and it is ok for my daughter’s bedroom.

4 Stars Good HDTV/DVD player, especially for the price
This TV is very simple to use. Take it out of the box, turn it on, auto search channels, change picture mode to “Movie” and you have a decent TV. It sounds a little better than most HDTVs, but you buy an HDTV for the picture. If you want HDTV sound, you have to add a multi-speaker home theater system. The picture is good with “Movie” setting. Out of the box it resorts to “Sports” setting that is just awful. I even tried it with an HD football game and it blurred the grass. Picture suffers from some motion blur, but IMO all LCD TVs have motion blur. The remote is very intuitive – you can change aspect ratio on the fly. QAM tuner works well, so it plays nice with cable.

The DVD Player is what sets this combo TV apart from the pack. It upconverts DVDs and Divx beautifully. That’s right it plays Divx!!! It also plays CDs, VCDs, Picture CDs, and multitrack WMA CDs.

This TV would be great for anyone building a home theater system in a confined space or confined budget. Thinking dorm room, first apartment situation. The built in DVD/CD player could be hooked to any home theater receiver with speakers via Digital Component Out.

    3 Stars Toshiba Audio Issues
Great TV except for the audio is just not that loud. Even all the way up it just is hard for me to hear.

    2 Stars Pathetic Sound quality

Picture quality good, DVD combo seems to be having issues , but can manage.

The Sound is horrible , even with the maximum volume you can not enjoy a movie.

Not worth paying around 400 for this.

    5 Stars No Complaints….Great TV
I love this TV so far. The picture is incredible. I use the TV in my bedroom to watch movies and television shows at night so I appreciate the dark blacks that Sharp is so good at. Some people complain about disk load time for the blu-ray player, but I see no substantial issues with its load time.

The construction seems very solid. The base is made of a solid metal so it doesn’t seem easily breakable like the other TV I have with the base made out of plastic. The TV swivels too…pretty cool feature.

The built-in blu-ray was big for my wife for aesthetic reasons. Since it just sits atop the dresser, it would have been difficult to put a DVD player anywhere else, so this TV does the job well for that. No complaints here. I was a little worried about how “blue” that streak was at the bottom of the TV. It isn’t bad at all…hardly noticeable. All you can see is a small blue shimmer. The pictures on this website make it look like its painted blue…looks much sleeker in real life.

There are plenty of inputs for anything you want to hook up to this bad-boy. There are also a good amount of options for customization. I love one feature of your “favorite channels.” It has 4 buttons, but also has 4 toggles for each of those buttons, so you can have a total of 16 favs. It’s also easy to toggle between picture brightness and picture aspect with just a click of the button.

    I definitely recommend.

3 Stars Blue Ray Player slow going.
Already had a service call.Sharp sent someone out fast and changed out my Blue Ray Player. Works well now and the sound and picture are crystal clear and vivid. But playing at least the BBC’s disk “Planet Earth” the player is real slow to manuver between screens. I don’t know the reason. Maybe a slower processor in the Tv. Also had to upgrade the firmware on the player. Still I hope the Tv is worth it. The price was good. So far since the installation of the Blue Ray Player everything appears Great.

    5 Stars perfect for camper
i bought to use on my deck of my camper.my other tvs i had trouble seeing.this tv ajusts to the different light each day.i have a 42in. for inside camper also a aquos. thank you aquos…

3 Stars Perfect for what I needed
Looking for a combo tv/dvd player I came across this TV at the 11th hour. With a built in blu-ray that could play dvd as well, it was much better than what I was looking at initially. I wanted a tv for the bedroom but didn’t want to have to buy and wire components, so this was a nice clean option since its all built in one.

After reading the reviews already on this page, I felt pretty confident this tv would be good for what I needed, and so far I have not been let down. Everything works well and is as described. My only gripes are that the blu-rays take a long time to load, but this is the case with my living room tv and stand alone blu-ray player too, so its just the nature of the beast. I gave 3 stars only because the frame around the tv looks a little cheap and has the super glossy plastic-y look, as well as all the little proprietary cheesy symbols printed on it on the front panel (dts, blu-ray, hd tv, etc). Typically that stuff would be on a sticker you could peel off, but here is permanently part of the finish. Also the picture is not quite as good looking as my Sony in the living room, so my expectations were a little higher, but for what it is, its great!

The biggest draw for me, apart from the convenience of having my media player and tv in one, is Amazon’s service and prices. Once again, I was very happy with Amazon’s fast shipping (they beat their estimated delivery time by a week!), and the white glove service (Ceva) is top notch. They bring the tv to your house in a small van (no bouncing around in big UPS or Fed Ex trucks), unbox the tv, set it up, test your remote, you can test out a movie, the full nine yards. Only then, once you’ve decided your cool with everything, do you sign off on the form and the guys take off. Try getting that kind of service anywhere else, its impossible.

To make the deal even sweeter, the shipping was free and the purchase was tax free, saving a couple hundred bucks when it’s all said and done. Highly recommended, and be sure you buy from the Amazon store, to get all these perks.

4 Stars Sharp Picture, but Blu-ray DVD lags
The picture quality is amazing. And I particularly like the “side-stretch” feature– it makes ordinary TV shows and movies look like HD without any great distortion. I don’t think any other brand offers this feature. The only downside is the built in Blu-ray DVD. It’s convenient, but . . . takes a very long time to load, doesn’t remember where you were if you stop/eject and come back later, and when you stop, the TV doesn’t automatically go back to the previous mode you were in, like back to cable tv. But the picture is amazing. The blacks are truly black, and the colors are vibrant. I love that picture!
