5 Stars Great TV, Great features
I’m not geek, but I know a good TV when I see it. Picture quality is much better than my old HDTV, and brighter too. Love the sound features. Easy hookup. I now have 3 LG tvs in my home (42, 32, and 20) so I guess I’m now a loyal LG customer.

5 Stars LG 42LH40 is everything I hoped for…
I’ve had this tv for about 4 months now and it is everything I wanted in an HDTV. The picture is crystal clear out of the box and even though you are suppose to calibrate these tvs, I haven’t had a need to do so. I wanted at least a 42 inch HDTV, LCD (to avoid plasma glare), 120 HZ to avoid motion blur, and under $1300. I looked at a few Samsungs and Sonys but both brands go from 40 inches to 46. I also considered a 46 inch Sharp but wasn’t impressed with the video quality. So the LG 42LH40 is what I bought.

The screen is bright and beatiful and sports in high-def look amazing. The menus are clear and intuitive which makes changing settings a breeze. The remote isn’t anything fancy but I do like the large input button that allows you to quickly switch between devices by displaying large icons that represents your inputs with the active inputs in color. The tv has a on off indicator on the lower right hand side that glows blue when off and red when on. This light also does a little Knight Rider type animation when the tv has been turned on and is warming up. Blue-Ray movies give you the best picture, then high-def tv, then upconverted dvds, then standard-def tv. Standard-def looks pretty crummy but that is to be expected on any large HDTV. Sound is also pretty darn good to be coming from built speakers.

Overall

Pros – Picture, menus, # of inputs, sound, style

Cons – Remote isn’t backlit

5 Stars Great value, excellent LCD for bright rooms
Very happy with this TV after three weeks of use. Wanted a decently priced LCD for my family room which gets a good amount of sunlight (even with blinds closed). LG 42LH40 didn’t disappoint! We primarily use the set for television (AT&T Uverse) and Xbox 360 games/Netflix. HD sports are outstanding and Xbox games are razor sharp. I’ve seen virtually no motion blur from either input.

Setup was simple, plug in the HDMI cables and go. Training the Uverse remote to control the set was painless. Colors were outstanding out of the box in “Natural” mode and the automatic tuning wizard was very easy to follow.

Only small negative so far is mediocre black level. It’s noticeable at night when watching a movie, but I’ve never been distracted by it. Several “professional” reviews knock this set for black levels but I honestly don’t see the big deal. If you want deep blacks, buy a plasma.

Definitely recommend this set to anyone looking for a great value in the 40″ LCD range. Amazon ordering and shipping were great. Shipping company called to confirm my selected appointment and showed up on time.

5 Stars The Dream Machine
Well, after my youngest daughter bought her 6th HDTV and USES all 6 of them, I figured it was time Dad bought his first. I own a computer store so I researched very completely the different brands out, there which all claim to be the best.Forget the hype, this LG 42″ seemed to make the best sense to me for the features it offered for the price. It arrived a day early which pleased me and set-up was even easier than imagined. The sound is as the old hippies said is FAR OUT DUDE!! The picture is PERFECT! NO doubt in my mind that research paid off big time. At 36 pounds, a kid could install this Flat Panel. The only draw back is that 12 hrs later it was $60 less. But had I known how much I would love it, I’d have bought it even sooner. My 4+YR old RCA is now in the bedroom. It too,has a great picture for a 27″ Big Box TV with very good speakers. Sorry ’bout your luck old faithful, but the LG is my new love! Buy it and love it, it don’t get any better than this. D. Diel New Mexico

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star wasn’t impressed
Not worth talking about it has a hard time picking up channels I had a analog Casio 2″ that could pick up the world I was going to replace it with the Haler but when I took it into the factory I think it forgot it was a TV. You could have it scan for channel till the cows came home.

4 Stars Good TV
My problems with this TV were not the fault of the TV. The rural area in which I live has only one TV station and its signal is not strong since the switch to digital. I had a radio which received the sound from our local station before the digital switch, but it no longer works. I could not find a radio which received the digital sound, so I purchased this unit to replace my old radio. Our signal was so weak that I could not get it to tune without a cable. But it works fine when hooked up to a cable. My primary complaint is that the unit does not always receive the signal for the remote. Sometimes I have to try two or three or even four times before the sensor receives the signal and does what I want it to do. Also the picture is great if you look at it straight on, but not so good if you view it from the side or above or below.

2 Stars Works OK but poor picture quality
This little TV works fine with the exception of the picture quality. The screen is bright and colorful but low resolution. It’s OK if you’re watching it from 10′ away but from 3′ away it’s quite grainy. I returned it and will be looking for one with a better picture. My understanding is that the Viore brand has 3 times the number of pixels.

Q

1 Star DO NOT BUY THIS FAULTY ITEM
I just spoke with customer service at HAIER. THEY ONLY GUARANTEE THIS PRODUCT FOR 90 DAYS – and will provide you with Parts only for a year.

I rarely used this little tv. When I set it up on my table to finally use it on a regular basis, it worked for maybe a week and then I like many others here got the error message “NO DATABASE FOUND”.

BAD PRODUCT – BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE – BAD COMPANY!

3 Stars Pleased digital tv
When I 1st attempted to purchase cost was $95.00 but it wouldn’t take my check information therefore order did not process so when I went back in to give credit card info the cost had gone up so didn’t get at lower price which did not make me happy. Once got it,with the antenna supplied could only get 6 channels (4 of which were spanish, which I am not)could only get 1 local channel. After putting a different atenna (one we had) now get 13 channels, 4 spanish, 4 church, 2 local and couple of other ones not normally watched. Other than that the picture comes in nice & clear and I would recommend it. We put in on our patio and for what we wanted it for it works just fine.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars ok
Nice TV but for one thing…speaker quality…I’ll throttle up to the highest setting for audio and we have difficulty hearing from our bed, perhaps 10ft. Needs speakers or receiver hooked up, which I have just done.

4 Stars Toshiba 22LV611U television
Toshiba 22LV611U 22-Inch 720p LCD TV with Built in DVD Player, White A good LCD TV. Great color and picture and it comes in white! The stereo speakers are located on the top rear of the frame and this could be a consideration when purchasing depending on the installation. I would have preferred speakers on the front facing the room. I admit I did not check this feature before purchasing. Lots of features for a small price. All in all, a good TV.

5 Stars I LOVE MY NEW TOSHIBA WHITE FLATSCREEN
I’m really enjoying my new 22″ Toshiba dvd/combo white flat screen. I have an all digital white euro themed room.

So this flat screen fits just perfect with my style and digi stuff. My TV arrived promptly and was easy to operate and it’s play dvd’s perfectly. Also I connected my laptop to the TV and it’s really cool. For surround sound you can also connect the Toshiba dvd/combo to a Cambridge Soundworks through aux or a Bose system. Enjoy!

4 Stars Satisfied
Overall satisfied with my purchase. Quick delivery, very portable, streamlined Television with a great picture. Perfect for our spare bedroom. The only drawback was the sound quality. We ended up connecting some surround sound speakers.

3 Stars OK
TV does not have audio out, and no remote codes found for Comcast cable remotes, but picture is good

3 Stars Pretty good, not bad
I got this Tv being my first own Tv I bought. I use it for my computer and my Fios. Its great pretty good quality, The only problem is it can’t be synced with some remotes aka my Fios remote so I have to use 2 different remotes which is kind of a pain for me but I deal with it. For the most part its a good Tv and I wouldn’t stop to buy it especially If you are on a budget of some sort.

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars NO REMOTE CODES FOR THIS TV!!!!!!!!!
There are no remote codes for ANY Coby television products, so don’t buy one if you want to use a universal remote. You will always need to use two remotes if you have cable or satellite. The unit itself is very nice. Good sound, good picture. I like the ease of setting it up. Just take it out of the box and plug it in. No need to screw on the base, like I did for another TV from a different retailer. My only complaint is that there are no remote codes available, even from Coby tech (non)support.

4 Stars Good looking TV.
I’m working in Iraq and I needed something small for my hooch, but I didnt really want to get too tiny. This TV suits my needs perfectly. Its not crystal clear, but it has a good quality that I’m satisfied with. It has lots of inputs in the back, sturdy set up for wall mounting, and the menus on screen are simple. Its a good TV with good sound. And given the opportunity with the same money, I’d do it twice.

Hope it helps,

Tyler D.

4 Stars An Auto Programming Issue
We purchased this TV/Monitor because I am half blind and our other TV/Monitor was a 19″. For the money it was a good purchase. We had our cable turned on a few days ago and did an auto tune to tune channels in and well today, it did not work. It shuts the TV off and does not save the auto scanned settings. Now either we are doing something wrong or this TV’s auto scan feature does not work. Hmmmmm anyone have any ideas or has this happened to anyone else??????If we are just TV dumb and doing something wrong, please advise……otherwise…at least now I can see what’s on TV, I just have to manually do channels each time.

5 Stars Excellent product for the price
Excellent product, especially for the price. Minus points: (a) extremely skimpy owner’s manual. Only through trial and error can one operate the TV to the full extent of its capabilities. (b) UPS severely damaged the carton in transit. It was a miracle the unit itself was not damaged thanks to the heavy protective packing of the manufacturer.

5 Stars Coby 26″ widescreen tv
Great TV THAT WAS EASY TO SET UP AND IT CAME WITH ALL THE CABLES AND A REMOTE CONTROL, SO BOTHER BUYING THEM. ENJOY.
