5 Stars Sony Bravia XBR8 – and excellent product
I have yet to find fault with this great LED tech HDTV .

The picture is fantastic , the on-screen menu controls are well designed and intuitive , the built in sound is as good as could be expected ( and is vernier controllable at very low levels – great at night when others are sleeping ) . The 120 Hz refresh rate is good enough for my needs .

I am surprised that Sony has not followed up with more offerings of this technology . I am pleased that I bought when I did .

5 Stars Great TV. A Little too much in picture options
I brought this tv on Amazon used. It hasn’t been out very long and LED have a long life span so I decided to give a shot plus you will never see this tv for under 1800 new. Another note, a guy returned it claiming it was scatched on the side. I can live with that. I got my tv and it looked scatched. after removing the plastic it wa in perfect condition. Hooked it up and the picture is truly beyond belieft on this tv. The only picture complaint I could have with SD. Once I hooked it to blu ray the picture took a whole new life that I didn’t realize I was missing from my old hd sony that I moved to the bedroom. I have found myself changing the settings every night looking the best picture but no setting is wrong…. maybe vivd. After Having about a month to really play around my biggest problem is too many picture options and a book that doesn’t explain everything in detail like how to know that your using the 24p mode

5 Stars Big bang for the buck!
Although the list price for this HDTV would be out of my budget, I purchased this amazing flat screen from Amazon for a little over $2,300. In my local electronics store, the Sony was my 2nd favorite (after the Kuro). The Samsung LEDs were close behind. What makes this unit ideal for me is the fact that is still has pretty decent built-in speakers. I personally hate having a sound system hooked up to my TV. I like to be able to turn on my TV and go. I made the salesman at my local store demonstrate the built-in sound to make sure it would be sufficient for my needs. (I was really planning on buying it there but they raised the price overnight and then I found Amazon’s amazing price which saved me over $600!) Since we were originally thinking we were going to have to buy both a new TV (to replace our dying projection HDTV) and a home theater sound system (since none of the new flat screens seemed to have speakers at all anymore), we were able to apply that budget to this superior TV instead, which arguably has one of the best pictures available.

Now that it is installed at home, I am absolutely thrilled! I am more than happy with the built-in sound. I admit that those who are used to having booming surround sound audio would probably be disappointed, but the sound set at medium levels is very nice for day to day viewing. If you turn it up for serious BluRay DVD viewing, it is pretty impressive as well. The picture is truly stunning!

I must give kudos to Amazon for their customer service as well. The first unit we were shipped turned out to have a cracked interior screen. The box was undamaged and everything seemed fine until we powered it up. There were massive cracks going across the screen (actually a picture of cracks since the exterior was fine, just the interior screen of some kind was broken – it was obvious it had been dropped at some point.) I called Amazon immediately and they took care of it quickly and courteously and now we have our beautiful new TV. Yes, I would have rather had a perfect unit the first time out, but the money we saved over purchasing from our local superstore was more than worth it.

5 Stars Simply Fantasticly Awesome !
Eight speakers, P&P, LED, 4 HDMI connects, 18mo. warranty and it’s a Sony the one and only, need I say more. Combined with my Denon AVR 2807 & 2500BTCI BD player, the Blu-Ray and DVD HD images and HD sound are spectacular. I purchased the Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR8 LED TV from a Sony retail style store. The manager was agreeable to price match with the “Home Theatre Store” at a wopping $1400 discount to $2299 from $3699, economic times have indeed changed. Prepare to have your eyeballs massaged, it will not disappoint.

5 Stars Believe the Hype
Believe the hype. After much research (and saving) I finally chose the Pioneer 50″ Plasma – just before they announced they were getting out of the TV business, so I started from square one and I don’t think I could be any happier

The Sony’s picture is brilliant, the sound decent for a TV set and I like the “floating” speakers on the side. I have a wall above the fireplace that is wider than it is tall and it fits (visually) well. It works flawlessly with my Onkyo 7.1 system and up-sampling DVD (haven’t made the BluRay leap yet) player.

For as many features as it has, it was easy to set up and to navigate the menus for selecting inputs, etc.

Did I mention the picture? Out of the box, it was close but after tweaking it with the Sound and Vision DVD, it is nothing short of amazing. I find myself watching ESPN’s Sportscenter – not listening, just watching!

Even the side-viewing angle is much better than I expected – the only negative would be the screen reflection. LCD is supposed to be better than Plasma, but you can still light sources in line with the screen (floor lamp, ceiling fan light, etc). No big deal, just takes some adjusting.

If ultimate picture quality is worth it to you, this set has to be on your short list. If you read the reviews here at Amazon, you’ll notice all the relevant comments are five-star. Couldn’t agree more – and not just because I am trying to justify my purchase :-)

5 Stars Thanks!
Great TV. Fits in my bathroom perfectly, has great picture quality and sound level is fine.

4 Stars samsung
Nice TV. My only complaint is that the off angle viewing drops off considerably when you move even at a slight angle to the screen

4 Stars as expected
Good quality fairly small – in today’s big screen world – lcd tv. The viewer has to be pretty straight on for the best picture. Our large screen Sony has a better picture.

4 Stars Good Value…needs better sound.
I picked up two of these at $219 each from Amazon and recently ordered another one for a relative at $221. A very good value. We have one in a bedroom and one in a home office.

The picture is good but not as good as the Samsung LN19A450 which we also have but is no longer available. I would have preferred the LN19A450 even though it was about $100 more.

In summary these are a good value for the money but not for those who want the absolute best picture and sound in a small TV.

2 Stars Poor Sound
I came across this TV and I used it for about a week. [Disclaimer : The product I used was from a local store]

Its stylish, and adds a lot of picture enrichment. If you love sports or action movies, try the game mode and you will notice a distinct difference. Quite impressive.

This TV will not be a good fit in the living room, for one reason it is quite small, and also the bigger reason, the sound quality is very poor.

If you are looking at a small room, I would say this is a good fit, but definitely not for the living room.

Even if you are desperate to pick this one up, you may want to try the WHITE model, which is really cool to look at [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001U88P8K?ie=UTF8&tag=tvrecommendations-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001U88P8K]

Samsung UN46B6000 46 Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

Samsung UN46B6000 46 Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV

The B6000 is the slimmest of any LED TV on the market with tuner inside and the world’s slimmest wall mount solution that reduces the gap between the TV and the wall to less than 0.8 inches.

5 Stars Nothing is perfect but this is close
I bought this TV about two weeks ago, the picture in the store is the picture I was hoping to get at home and did! It almost seems 3D at times, it is by far the best picture I have ever seen on a TV. Watching BluRay is breathtaking. I have a surround sound system so the speaker issues people talk about are lost on me, I can’t imagine having a picture like this without complementing it with surround sound, it would be like buying a hot car with an AM radio in it.

A couple of drawbacks, the power light that appears in the clear neck of the base is very annoying in particular when watching a movie in letterbox, it almost draws your eye away from the picture. I finally covered it with a slim strip tape and that did the trick so they could definately fix that in the future. The other thing that COULD BE a point of contention the glossy screen. I don’t have a situation where it is a problem but if your room has a lot of windows or light goming in there is likely to be some glare problems.

5 Stars Mind Blowing Picture
The Samsung LED TVs are the BEST available on the market. The picture will blow your mind. The deep blacks and bright colors are amazing. The antiblur feature is very apparent and makes motion smooth and clear. As far as the “uniformity” issues one other reviewer was having, I see none. In fact, I find “uniformity” issues with the old LCD tvs that use CFLs that are quite noticeable (brightness in the corners of the screen and the middle near the bottom are apparent on most any LCD that uses CFLs). Again, let me reiterate, the picture on this LED TV is AWESOME.

The thin design and crystal like stlying is super cool. I was hesitant about the red Touch of Color that Samsung uses but once I set up the TV, it was barely noticeable. It’s a ruby colored accent on the outter edge of the bezel.

Buy this TV! You will not be disappointed.

5 Stars Wow
I am not a particularly sophisticated viewer – I have educated myself on this technology by reading what experts say, yet I have very little personal experience in comparing and evaluating specific brands/devices. I own a Sony bravia 52XBR4 which I purchased about 16 months ago (newer models exist, and perhaps theres some fade in mine) and which sits in a room adjacent to that of the Samsung in my small Manhattan apartment . The Sony is a fantastic LCD, however when I place the Samsung LED backed LCD on the same HD program and look between the two, the difference is obvious. This is especially true when the screen has a lot of black in it – the Samsung is BLACK! No light at all! It makes a difference…wow!

Only 1 month into using it, but thus far im blown away. Im watching way too much television….

5 Stars The COOL Factor
It was love at first sight. I first saw a Samsung LED hanging on the wall in Best Buy. I’m sure my mouth was hanging open. I couldn’t get over how vivid the picture was, almost sureal. The only thing not to like was the premium price compared to a standard Samsung LCD of the same size. I spent several months looking for a replacement for our living room TV. Just when I’d convinced myself that the LED wasn’t worth the price difference, Amazon, Sears, and Best Buy started lowering the price. I jumped at a deal and couldn’t be happier. I bought the Samsung wall mount and hid the cables in the wall. The Samsung mount is way over priced, but works perfectly and really lets the TV hug the wall. I guess the price isn’t that big an issue when spread over the several years that I’ll have this TV. The TV is in a large living room / dining room with high ceilings with two skylights. The room is very bright during the day, but the picture hold it’s own, bright and no glare. With Blue Ray and HD cable, the picture is incredable. It does take some getting used to, it’s somewhat distracting at first. I see none of the light pumping or motion blur as mentioned in some reviews. Yes, the sound sucks. But what home theater buff really expects good sound from TV speakers. I’ve yet to have someone see the TV and not stop and stare. The vivid picture, ultra thin design, and close wall mount create a “Cool Factor” that can’t be ignored.

2 Stars Great Picture, Lousy Audio
I purchased this TV to replace a two-year old Samsung that was stolen from my home. I was *very* impressed with my old Samsung and had high expectations for this newer model. The picture is stunning! And the super-slim dimensions of the set make it easy to move around for setup. But I was dumbfounded at how poor the audio quality is. Even after playing with the equalizer and other sound settings for a half hour, it still sounded worse than the old 13″ tube TV sitting in the bedroom. The sound was hallow, very much lacking in the mid and low ranges. I blame part of this on the fact that the speakers are rear-firing…they point out of the rear of the TV, no doubt expecting to bounce off a wall. The sound improved slightly the closer to the wall the set was placed, but never to the point of sounding “good”. If your application for this TV includes a sound bar or other audio setup, then I’d give this set a try – the picture is really fantastic. But if you need a TV that does both video AND audio well, you’ll want to consider other options.
