5 Stars I love this TV
I decided that it was finally time to do something about the 15-year old 19″ CRT I’ve been using in the bedroom, and I spent weeks looking at every 32″ LCD TV sold in the area (many trips to Best Buy, Sears, Target, Walmart, anywhere that carried TVs). I thought I had convinced myself that the Sony XBR6 or XBR9 was the right choice. However, last week Target had these on sale for $519, and I had another 10% off anything, so the final price was about $470 – 400 less than the Sony. The display Vizio looked decent, and I decided to take a chance. I could not be happier that I did.

The picture looks great. I thought that the refresh rate would be too slow and I’d be annoyed at motion artifacts, but on my test sequences I haven’t noticed a thing. In fact, I’ve moved the Blu Ray player to be attached to this TV instead of my Philips CRT HDTV because the picture is considerably better – the text on the PS3 is finally actually readable.

I have no idea what the heck the “Java” in the name means, but it’s not any sort of annoying software running on the TV getting in the way of just watching TV.

If I had one complaint, it’s that analog cable looks terrible on this TV. Maybe I just didn’t figure out the right settings for it and it would work fine, but in the end it didn’t really matter – I needed a second HD set top box from my cable company for $5 a month to get the HD lineup anyway, and through box the SD channels look pretty good. As a bonus, this TV switches between HD and SD very fast, unlike my other HDTV.

Finally, I think this is about as close to an “American” TV as you can actually buy, though it’s OEMed in Taiwan. For this price, I don’t think you can go wrong. Maybe I would have liked the Sony a bit better, but I’m happier that I saved the $400 and have a TV I really like.

4 Stars Chose this for a Computer Monitor
I needed a new external monitor for doing CAD work, and based on the dimensions of my office I decided a 32″ 1080P LCD display would be optimal. I spent about 3 weeks reading on-line reviews, tech specs, and going to brick & mortar places to actually see some of the sets. Let me say right now that in Vegas at least, most of the stores I saw spent zero time trying to make their TV displays appealing or to get a good picture. Many didn’t have the remote either. I found the store visits to be most unhelpful. stores I visted were [...], [...], RC Willey (a furniture store!!!) and Frys.

hands down, the samsung 7 series absolutely blows my mind with the picture quality. They are very expensive though, so I kept looking. I’d never heard of Vizio before this search, but I come to find that they are assembled in the good ol’ USA, got universally good reviews, have decent tech support, and sounded like I’d get a good deal.

another important thing for me was warranty. sometimes a good deal pricewise isn’t such a good deal if a lot of people have had problems with it. At first I was torn between a large LCD monitor and a 1080P tv; however I was shocked to find that there was only a very few monitors larger than 24″, and of those most were in the [...]+ range, with the Apple 30″ Cinema display a whopping $[...] bucks (about what I paid for my current MacBook Pro). UG!

there is a Hanspree 28″ monitor that has more than 1200 reviews here on Amazon. great price, until I started looking into warranty. EEEK! let’s see: I can return it if there are 8 or more dead / stuck pixels……….

I can’t imagine how furious I’d be if I had a nice new monitor and had to live with as many as 7 bright dots (or blank spaces). This monitor was [...] bucks, reasonable in my opinion. the next least expensive monitor of similar size was [...] bucks. I balked.

the very lowest price 1080p tv’s were no-name brands I’d never heard of in big box stores. the only warranty was the store 90 day warranty and after that I’d be on my own dealing with a company no one’s ever heard of before. No Thanks.

I’d just about steeled myself to pay 550 to 650 for my display, when Dell came up with this VOJ320F (one of the contenders) for [...]. I called their customer service dept to ask about return policy and etc; it bothered me that none of the questions I was asking were answered on their website, but the verbal answers I did receive were exactly what I was hoping to hear. The customer service person told me that if I ordered the tv verbally over the phone it would get here more quickly because she could circumvent some of the on-line verification procedures. so great! I did the deal. That was Aug 15. Delivery date was projected to be Sept 2. ug.

for the next 2 weeks I checked their on-line service several times a day. no progress! I was getting worried that the set was going to be back-ordered and that it would take much longer. finally on Aug 27th I get the email. guess what? it shipped from Cali and only took one day to get here. but it’s nerve-wracking to deal with the dell delayed-gratification system. One great thing about dell: for [...] they extended the factory warranty. heck, the vizio website offered one year at [...] bucks. also by purchasing the 1 year extension, Dell picks up all warranty dealings, so I don’t have to deal with Vizio to get any warranty work done – just dell.

setup was very simple, I currently have the backlight and brightness turned all the way off, and the contrast at about 60%. My macbook pro has a DVI output, so a DVI to HDMI cable worked perfectly. it took about 1 second for the TV to recognize and automatically pick up the MBP. I am really happy with the results – I haven’t been able to mount it to the wall yet, so it’s still sitting on my desk, approx 3′ from my face. as a monitor, it is very good and I’m very pleased. as a TV it’s ok, but I’m not going to watch that much. SD channels at 3′ are not impressive (a good reason not to watch, right?). The remote is minimal, and I miss my larger tv’s capability of stretching/zooming/normal modes to deal with different channel’s formatting.

to sum up my long-winded post, I’m happy with the quality and the deal I got from Dell. for less than most large computer monitors, I got a great external that’s also a TV. Sweet!

5 Stars GREAT GREAT GREAT
I JUST BOUGHT TWO 32 INCH VIZIO FLAT SCREEN TVS AND MY KIDS LOVE IT. THE PRICE OMG LOVE IT,YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THIS BRAND AND PRICE HURRY GET ON LINE NOW BECAUSE THEY WONT LAST.

5 Stars Vizio Ranked Above a Sony Bravia by Consumer Reports, I agree
Got this TV to replace my old 35″ Sony 2 Tuner (analog) PIP set that was 11 years old that died last weekend with a ‘pop’. High Voltage transformer blw & TV shop said it wasn’t worth repairing since I had analog tuners in it. Plus it was a beast sized TV, all 200 lbs of it. I had researched TV’s online and pretty much convinced myself that getting a SONY 32XBR9 or getting a Sony Bravia L series 32″ would be my best move. Until I wondered into a [...] store in the mall. I had seen the display at Best Buy but those TV’s are all mounted on the wall. However the [...] display had them all lined up so you could touch them & operate the Volume controls at viewing level.

One thing I found out was, the Vizio picture was equal to ANYONE’s picture. Despite what Sony had in the past, this TV is equally as capable with a High Definition signal or a Standard Definition signal (like from DBS satellite)I must admit I am normally biased to Sony, but Sony doesn’t have a thing on this TV except Sony does make a better remote. Thats the only complaint I have about the TV … the remote is bland, not lit and very lightweight. But since I do have SD Directv Satellite. I have already purchased a lighted remote for the Satellite & my Satellite Remote will work this Vizio, so I am good to go.

The Vizio ran me 499 but it is ONSale for [...] members right now until 9/30/09 in the store <50> off. The projected cost for the Sony Bravia of the same specs is 649. and the cost of a Sony XBR9 32″ was to be 999 at Best Buy. I bought the Vizio after checking the ON screen menu which is in a very readable orange color; the volume levels of the TV were checked too (the Vizio is louder then the Sharp 32″ or a Panasonic 32″ , volume seems the same as the Sony models) I must say that the thing that impressed me somewhat and made me take a second look at the Vizio is that Consumer Reports October 2009 issue had a LAB TEST where they rated the Vizio 32″ the best . Seeing is believing!! I must agree the rear hookups connection capabilities, Vizio even has a jack for headphones, the Sony models do not. But the Sony models all have significantly higher prices… Sony.. you cant rest on your past laurels; you got to show me where its worth the extra money… times are tight.

Regarding Motionflow technology… That’s something you can’t see unless you have a TV screen that is 40″ or above.. so it wasn’t a factor for a 32″ TV. Vizio doesn’t mention whether it is 60Hz or what speed it is. But I couldn’t notice any blurring in its picture even when viewing a tennis match.

Got to agree with Consumer Reports, this is the best Value for the money.

4 Stars GREAT viewing, but device/channel changing problems
I love everything about this model, except for device control. I’ve connected it to my cable and Blue-Ray player with HDMI cables. When I watch them I must switch to HDMI1 and HDMI2 respectively. Often, very often, after I turn the TV on I have to switch off HDMI1 and back 2+ times before I can view the TV. This doesn’t happen with the Blue-Ray… When I can’t view the TV I get the message, “Unrecognized format.” Frequently I loose the “connection” between the TV and cable box when changing channels. In those cases I need to switch away from HDMI1 and back 1+ times. The cause of this may be something that I am or am not doing, but haven’t figured it out.

Great viewing–great sound–great looks… Sorry to say that I may return it because of the channel hassles.

4 Stars Great buy!
This flatscreen is everything I was looking for in a tv for my bedroom. I love the 3 alarms on any day of the week you choose and channel and even volume. Only con is the speakers aren’t that great, but I expected that from other reviews I read. Overall great buy!

5 Stars Excellent TV!
This is a top notch HDTV for an excellent price… well below the equivalent at a Best Buy.

To begin with, this TV is attractive even when off. When on, the screen is bright and crisp. I’ve had no problems using it with either my PS3 or Wii… the “game mode” seems to do its job very well in minimizing the lag common in HDTVs. Assassin’s Creed looks amazing, as does Mario Galaxy.

The TV has very full customizeability of picture, and I’ve had no problem making dark movies bright enough.

Contrary to some of the reviews here, I think the speakers are very satisfactory. They don’t have a completely full bass sound, no, but they are plenty loud for my apartment. Despite a lack of deep bass the speakers give generally full sound, and do a good job mimicking surround output. A little tip – turning on the “true surround” feature lowers the volume by quite a bit. Sound a little quiet? Then turn off the surround setting and “settle” with excellent stereo sound… at volume 45 the TV is plenty loud (and it goes to 100). I compared the sound of various TVs at Best Buy and I honestly think this little unit has phenomenal sound for its size class… if you want better speakers built into a ~3″ deep flat screen, well you are probably going to have to go for a fatter and larger TV. What do you want for such a slim unit?

The TV not having 1080P output isn’t much of a con… most TVs this size do not offer that, and when they “do” it is usually just a downscaling of 1080P signal to the screen rather than truly displaying it. 720P and 1080i look pretty darn slick compared to a CRT analogue TV, let me tell you! Again, the PS3 looks awesome.

So – good sound for the size-class, crisp bright screen, high contrast, good performance on games… all for ~$[...]!

It should have an S-video input. I’m not sure why it doesn’t. That made me a little sad, but I knew it didn’t when buying it. Just upgrade to component or HDMI where possible if you’ve got an s-video device :-)

I have one real con for this TV – NOWHERE did I see this indicated – the TV has a completely unadjustable stand. On larger TVs, the stands don’t have to be adjustable because their viewing angles are so large. But a smaller TV at 22″ with a 160 degree viewing angle… it really does need to be able to tilt. I have it up on a dresser so I tucked some cardboard under the rear of the base to give it a slight tilt down. Thankfully the bright screen and decent viewing angles make this an acceptable arrangement, but if you have an off-optimal location for your TV consider the lack of adjustability when buying.

Still – excellent TV with better picture than a lot of the ones I’ve seen in stores. Definite steal at this price

5 Stars Great picture. Sound too.
I love this tv. It’s light as a feather. (my first skinny tv) The box has a handle. I got home late and thought I’d have to detach my slam-on-you screen door to bring it in from the porch like any bulky box I’ve gotten from amazon. But nooooo. The slender box was left between the screen door and the front door, I grabbed the handle and strolled into the house like I was carrying a brief case

I hate directions but only had to read a half a page to get it turned on and pulling in all the “air” channels here with rabbit ears that have one ear broken in half. Soon, maybe I’ll read about the details

But I love that I didn’t have to. (sorry about that grammar thingy)

The picture is sharp, the color is true, and the sound is perfectly fine.

The remote is very well laid out and even works when I point it the other way, something I’m really not used to because I’ve been having some annoying remote problems for a while now.

BTW. Thanks Amazon, for being smart enough to give me so much free shipping… still I’m kinda confused that I can buy Balance bars cheaper at Walmart AND know the expiration date.

But still, great buying experience.

5 Stars great quality right out of the box
Purchased through Amazon….Just hook up the cable wires, plug this thingie in, and you have a great looking, extroadinary color HDTV. Nice size for our bedroom….great design, takes up little space. What more can you want…..very very nice product.

4 Stars Samsung 22″ LCD TV
This is my first LCD TV so I can’t compare it with other LCDs. The picture is bright and clear and the color really great. Compared to my other TV, it is super. The sound is lacking bass, but is very good with voice. I can hear and understand much better with this TV compared to the 15 year old Samsung that went to the trash. We are using this TV in the kitchen and dining room. I made a lazy susan to fit the base so we can easily turn it to watch in either room.

5 Stars Outstanding Product
This is a great television for a bedroom or den. It works well as a computer monitor also. I was a little surprised when I opened the package and found out that the base of this model is different from the base pictured in the Amazon photo. The base pictured is transparent. This matches the transparent bezel that spans the base of this LCD. The one that I received has a solid black base that matches the piano black finish of the rest of the set. An attractive unit overall, but would have looked better with the transparent base. This set is surprisingly easy to set up and use. The included remote is well planned and easy to use. (not cluttered with alot of unnecessary buttons) Outstanding picture quality even without an HD signal. Standard cable signal is beautifully reproduced on this item. I hooked up a Samsung Blu-ray player and was totally impressed with the HD picture. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for Samsung quality at an attractive price.

2 Stars Poor reliability
I had this LCD for 13 months and then one day it just blanked out. When I turned it back on it would come on for about 2 minutes (no picture) and then turn itself off. I took it back to Best Buy who said it was out of Warranty by one month but agreed to send it in for repair at my cost. I received a call from the repair Dept a few days ago who quoted me a price of $399. They said the main board was burned up. I paid @ $600 for this TV 13 months ago and now you can buy the same Samsung LCD for @ $400. Needless to say that I will not be repairing this TV. Anyone need a 26″ doorstop? I have put my digital 2o” Sony back in service (that I’ve had for 10 years) and it’s doing fine. I will say that the Samsung did have a nice picture while it lasted.

2 Stars Great TV Until….
Bought last year’s model from Amazon in July 2008 (LN26A450C). Worked great until last week (a little over one year…now out of warranty). Now, the power standby light is on, but the TV will not turn on when the power button is pushed. Also won’t turn on when the remote power button is pressed. Picture was great until this happened. Samsung website says component has failed and it must be serviced. Probably more money to fix the problem, than just by a new one. I have Samsung computer monitors and another 40 inch LCD TV. All have been ok. Oh well, live and learn. I may try Sony next time.

4 Stars 26 ” Samsung TV
I wanted a larger TV for my kitchen and a 26″ screen seemed to be the solution. This TV has a nice picture (great on near-high def, over the air digital transmission) and OK sound.

Like other Samsung TVs (I have three) it looks and feels like a quality product. The only downside is sound and that is mostly a volume issue. Kitchen TVs are more often stand alone and the volumn and quality has to come from the TV. If better sound is needed a sound bar would provide a small space, great improvement.

Samsung makes highly rated TVs for a reason . . . they perform.

5 Stars Aweseom buy!
We originally saw this TV at Bestbuy with a price of $399.99 (March or April 2009). We weren’t sure if it would fit in the space we had so we got measurements and went home. We were also hoping they would have the TV on sale. Lo, and behold, it went up in price $130.00!!! We watched for months for someone to have it on sale again. The picture is wonderful and, so far, we haven’t run into any problems with the functions.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Great TV Picture But Otherwise Flawed
Great picture on strong over the air tv signal but will not pick up weak signals that other digital tuners I have do easily. It has a large selection of inputs (including 2 HDMI, male and female vga and component) for an entry level LCD. Unfortunately I have not been able to get a decent picture in component input mode even though the picture is fine on over the air tv. In component mode the color is way off (totally magenta) and does not want to change despite attempts to correct using menus and tint and color intensity controls.

This is not a slim LCD (its over 3″ thick) by any strech of the imagination nor can it be mounted snuggly to the wall because the connectors on the back, including the power connector, stick out about 2 inches past the back of the cabinet -a really poor design! For contrast check out the Coby on which the connectors are in a recess and pointed down, inset into and in parallel with the back panel. With the LG, if you use a thin wall mount you will need to space it about 2″ out from the TV back to allow room for those connnectors to clear the wall. There are much better choices out there and I regret making this one.

5 Stars Great, easy set up, fast delivery !
I ordered this TV yesterday, and recieved it today. Only paid $10.00 for delivery!

It works great and was easy to set up.

Price was right. Beat Best Buy’s price and the service was MUCH better than Best Buy too!

5 Stars Very Satisfying!
I bought this set about 4 months ago and have had no problems. I normally use it connected to my DirecTV box but I’ve also connected it to my laptop to access wireless as well as wired Internet Netflix. No problems whatsoever. The user interface is friendly. I most appreciate the energy savings feature! Thanks LG :)

5 Stars Great TV at a great price
We purchased this television a few months ago for our bedroom and have really liked it. Very clean and sharp image quality. We like the sound quality as well. We have this television connected to a DVD player and our cable box and haven’t had any issues. When we purchase our next television we’ll buy from LG. The only complaint I have is we purchased it at a best buy and it is cheaper here at Amazon.

5 Stars Expensive but Awesome
We bought this TV to place in our kitchen. We had no problems mounting it to the wall. Remote is easy to use.

Unit was able to detect analog and digitial cable feeds right out of the box. Picture is decent when looking at analog cable. But this unit really shines when it comes to a digital hidef channel. Picture is ultra crisp and rivals my 42 inch plasma in the family room. Sound is pretty good considering the our particular application in the kitchen.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars good stuff
the only knock i have on this mount is the tilt feature. it’s kind of a pain to use as the knob broke during install. other than that, it’s a great unit.

5 Stars Solid & well engineered!
My tv mount arrived in perfect condition and on time. It is nice and heavy duty and well made. I would recommend it.

4 Stars Excellent product
First tried to install without putting into a stud, quickly ripped out of the wall. Into a stud, the device was quick to set up! The swivels are sturdy and transition well into new positions. Very satisified so far…

5 Stars More bang for the buck!!
When I first started looking at wall mounts for my 40″ Samsung 1080p lcd the first thing I noticed immediately was how expensive the mounts were. Everywhere from Wal-Mart to Best Buy I was blown away by the inflated price. I normally do not like to purchase this type of item from an online provider, but after seeing this mount at the price it was offered at I could not say no. I was slightly nervous that I might have made a mistake after I hit the “Complete Purchase” key on my PC but luckily I had nothing to worry about. The mount arrived fairly quickly and I must say that this is a superb item. It is incredibly sturdy and has a very refined simple look that adds to its appeal. I had purchased a mount prior to purchasing this one from Wally-wold but felt that its construction was too flimsy. This mount just seems more durable and lessens my fear of having my lcd fall to the floor. It is very easy to attach to the wall and your television is secured better to this mount than most others. I highly recommend this mount to anyone that wants to enjoy their lcd from the comforts of their wall.

5 Stars wall mount
for the price, this wall mount can’t be beat. very sturdy, lots of adjustment and fairly easy to install.
