5 Stars Great value-great TV
I bought this TV for our bedroom; it replaced an old cumbersome set. We have cable, so we are thrilled to be able to get most programs in either analog or digital format. I note the sound is not as loud in the digital programs; however, it is more than adequate for bedroom use. I love being able to play DVDs on the set, and the clarity and color are certainly great….in my opinion! The set would be a little too large for use in my kitchen, but it is great for the purpose for which I bought it.
5 Stars High Quality For My Uses
It’s the only TV in my small apartment – a larger screen would overwhelm both room size and wall hangings. Don’t let the low pixel count scare you off; AT THESE DIMENSIONS picture quality is high. Sound quality is good for voice. As for music. it’s hardly in a minor league team for my table-top BOSE.
3 Stars Perfecet for Harold Lloyd fans
A number of reviews of this TV focus on the lack of audio volume. I ordered the TV assuming that these people were simply fussy. In fact, they are spot-on. The TV is awfully quiet. That said, it’s still lightweight, has a good picture, etc. So if you’re willing to hook up external speakers, or watch silent movies (or if you live alone) – go for it!

I have been using this tv almost every night and day ,I am pleasantly writing this review at 6 AM lying in bed ,,,The TV is Mounted on the wall about 40 inches above my bed ,in direct eye contact level ,and I have my IBM Laptop connected with a 15 ft cable and the switching between the TV,,ComputerMonitor ,and dvd player is very simple , The unit even plays DVD G discs which are Karoke disk with grafics to read the song words across the screen.
I mounted the unit on the same bracket that I had my 15 inch lcd mounted and it works fantastic . Toshiba 22LV610U 22-Inch 720p LCD TV with Built in DVD Player, Black]]
4 Stars Enjoying my new flat screen
The new flat screen is a trim addition to my TV viewing experience. Good picture quality and less space taken up on the cabinet top. Have not tried the DVD player yet but it appears to be a great way to have a 2 in 1 experience.

5 Stars Toshiba 26 Inch LCD TV with Built in DVD
TV arrived in excellent condition. It was easy to set up and is very attractive. Excellent picture and sound.
5 Stars Excellent LCD combo
I do not have any negative feedbacks on this product. This is a good LCD combo. Since there are not many on the market. I am not expecting excellent sound nor picture, it just looks fine and it is ok for my daughter’s bedroom.
4 Stars Good HDTV/DVD player, especially for the price
This TV is very simple to use. Take it out of the box, turn it on, auto search channels, change picture mode to “Movie” and you have a decent TV. It sounds a little better than most HDTVs, but you buy an HDTV for the picture. If you want HDTV sound, you have to add a multi-speaker home theater system. The picture is good with “Movie” setting. Out of the box it resorts to “Sports” setting that is just awful. I even tried it with an HD football game and it blurred the grass. Picture suffers from some motion blur, but IMO all LCD TVs have motion blur. The remote is very intuitive – you can change aspect ratio on the fly. QAM tuner works well, so it plays nice with cable.
The DVD Player is what sets this combo TV apart from the pack. It upconverts DVDs and Divx beautifully. That’s right it plays Divx!!! It also plays CDs, VCDs, Picture CDs, and multitrack WMA CDs.
This TV would be great for anyone building a home theater system in a confined space or confined budget. Thinking dorm room, first apartment situation. The built in DVD/CD player could be hooked to any home theater receiver with speakers via Digital Component Out.
3 Stars Toshiba Audio Issues
Great TV except for the audio is just not that loud. Even all the way up it just is hard for me to hear.
2 Stars Pathetic Sound quality
Picture quality good, DVD combo seems to be having issues , but can manage.
The Sound is horrible , even with the maximum volume you can not enjoy a movie.
Not worth paying around 400 for this.

4 Stars Viewsonic 22inch LCD 1080i TV
Great Price…Great Picture…Ease of use and it can connect to your computer and it plays both DVD’s and Cd’s. Sound could be a little better but if you adjust the settings to your viewing or listening environment you can tweak it a little bit but this TV could use better speakers. Overall, this is a nice TV for those who have limited space.
4 Stars Great for our kitchen
Update:
We ended up buying a Sony Bravia for the kitchen, and so this has gone into my sons room. The viewing angle became a bit of an issue, and the Sony does not have that issue. I would bring it down to 3.5 stars, but still, this is a great value. One thing I (we) did not consider is walking around the kitchen and doing things at different points, so this became a bit of a hassle. Please note that I did NOT return it, and that says a lot. So, if you only had the money for one, and you did NOT need a dvd player, I would go with the Sony. If you need a dvd player, this gets the nod.
I bought this because my wife wanted a small TV for our kitchen and my friend had one and it looked pretty good. Well, it looks just as good in our kitchen. The picture quality is excellent, even standard definition looks good. The sound is exactly what I thought it would be for this TV and price point…meaning, it didn’t knock my socks off, but it was more than adequate for where it is. The only thing that I do not like is the viewing angle is not that great. So, keep in mind where your viewing area is going to be, and as long as you can rotate the TV you won’t have any problem. Our kitchen gets a lot of sun, and we haven’t had any problems viewing…..the only issue is the viewing angle. At this price, I would have taken off only half a star, but that is not possible. The stand is very nice and stable, so I do not have any worries of knocking it over. Samsung makes a nicer TV, but it is more expensive and does not have a built-in DVD player, so the combination makes this a no brainer for me. Lastly, at this size screen, I doubt anyone could tell the difference between 780p and 1080p so there is no reason to spend the money on a more expensive 1080p (that doesn’t apply here, but I was also looking at larger sets, and you really need to get to 40inch in order to start noticing a difference….and if you are more than 10 feet away, I would say even a 40inch 780p would be more than acceptable, so I only mention this as an FYI).
4 Stars Good all around TV for the price
Good picture, but as with all LCD TV’s volume is low. However, I just returned a TV due to poor sound quality and am keeping this one because it is louder than the other LCD TV and also has analog audio output for us to hook up to an older receiver. I am satisfied with this product. If you are watching TV in a noisy environment and don’t have speakers I would not recommend a LCD TV. If you must use a LCD TV, this is one of the louder models.
5 Stars Viewsonic 22″ TV with DVD Player
I purchased this TV to use in my RV. My grandchildern use the DVD to watch videos while camping. I have not used it as a TV yet but for the videos it has a fantastic picture.
4 Stars Not bad
Very pleased so far with this TV. Delivers a good quality HD picture. The built in DVD player also does a good job. It will play PAL(region 0) DVD’s as well as NTSC. The Audio is very clear of any distortion and the volume is more than adequate for a TV of this size. Obviously, this set is best suited for a bedroom or Kitchen, not a huge room.
Somewhat to my suprise I was able to program my Dish DVR remote to work with the N2201w. The correct TV code is 834. This will let you control the TV POWER, VOLUME, and MUTE.
The SD picture is adequate, but not great. The default video settings required some tweaking to obtain an optimal picture.
I am satisfied so far with my purchase, but I have only had the set for a week. The verdict is still out on the long term reliability of this set.

2 Stars Good ideas, poor execution
Pro: Unique styling, good picture quality if you are directly in front and at the same height as the TV, great price, good reception.
Con: Really poor sound. Has external sound jack, but the sound volume is constant, even if you mute the TV sound, external sound is the same. Off axis picture quality deteriorates quickly as you move from dead center either up/down or left/right. Not reliable, after 45 days, the power button (only) stopped responding – remote works, but the on unit power button is broken.
On the whole, this unit is more trouble than it is worth. Called the [...] customer service number and they will send a refurbished unit if I don’t mind waiting and wading through the process of verification and shipping. They will send a prepaid shipping label once they have acceptable proof of purchase, and are very courteous on the phone.
It is tough to buy a unit without first seeing and trying it – but then there is the reliability problem, wish me better luck next time.
2 Stars Don’t mount under cabinet
I’m going to be sending this TV back after trying it mounted under a cabinet. The viewing angle is great when it is upright, but upside down the viewing angle is horrible. You have to be positioned directly on center with the TV to see it if you are more than a few inches above the screen. The sound is also poor.
3 Stars decent for an auxiliary tv
I got this tv to replace an aging 5 inch B&W SD TV in our bathroom. We use this TV for watching traffic and weather as we’re getting ready for work. Beyond that, I wouldn’t recommend this TV. This unit does have a good tuner, nice remote, and the ability to position the screen is great. The downsides include are a poor picture (bright enough, but a lot of pixelation of colors) and abysmal sound (the sound is tinny/harsh and has a constant hum in the background)
5 Stars Nice TV for bedroom or kitchen
I purchased this unit for my GF to use in the kitchen. She really likes this TV. I liked the mounting options and for the $$$ it was a good purchase.
3 Stars Would be perfect if they improved the speakers
PROS
- Great mounting options
- Picture quality
- Visible in high glare location
CONS
- Awful speakers (everything sounds tiny)
Great TV that I bought as a gift. Everything about it is perfect for a kitchen TV, with the exception of the awful sound the thing puts out. Luckily it has an audio-out jack, but frankly I shouldn’t have to come up with workarounds for a TV at this price range.

3 Stars Headphone socket issues
This is a nice unit and I had no troubles setting it up where I wanted it. It’s nice and light so it sits on top of the DVD and Tivo players.
I was disappointed by the actual size of the picture, since I had measured our previous tube TV diagonally and determined the LCD replacement based on that, but didn’t take into account the fact that the LCD diagonal screen size measurement was based on its wide screen shape and therefore the height measurement would end up being smaller than our current TV screen. So watch out for that if you’re replacing something you already have for the bedroom for example. I eventually sent this TV back and replaced it with a 32″ for this reason and the headphone socket.
Since this is in the bedroom, occasionally I was still watching a TV show after my wife had fallen asleep, so I used the headphone socket a few times to listen without disturbing her. After maybe 5 times of using this socket (with a pair of Sony headphones), the removal of the headphone plug no longer returned sound to the speakers. It seems that the headphone socket was apparently stuck in the open position even after taking the plug out. I called Viewsonic support and they weren’t able to help. They gave me a case number and said they would call back with a returns number. 5 days later I gave up on them and just got a returns number from J&R (the store it was actually shipped from) who would very helpful and since I was within 30 days had no problem taking it back. As I write this, I am waiting for the credit to my account and I know it arrived at their offices yesterday, but this doesn’t seem like it will be a problem.
So in summary, I would suggest you take note of the actual screen height, not just the diagonal measurement when replacing your existing TV if you have one, and if you’re never going to use the headphone socket, you should be fine with this model, which has perfectly fine looks, good picture and good sound for a small unit. Of course, many people say 1080p at this size is not even noticable, and I would have to agree, and most HD shows are delivered in 720p so you’re not going to see much of a gain over 720p models unless you intend to watch Blu-Ray I expect.
5 Stars Great TV, even better monitor
I chose this TV because I live in a studio and don’t have enough room for both a TV screen and a computer screen. I was already using my computer to watch movies and living without a TV, but only so much is available online (particularly live events). It was very hard to find a screen with high enough resolution to work as a computer monitor, but this TV was a perfect match!
First, on TV attributes, the picture quality is great and many non-HD channels give me an option to “zoom” and fill the screen if needed. I also have a 20-yr old Nintendo and a 25 year old Atari, another reason for getting the TV, which work terrific and automatically stretch to fill the entire widescreen without too much distortion. My only gripes are channel management is a bit clunky and the blue power button right on the front is a bit of a distraction. Sound is also mediocre but obviously you’re not going to find $500 speakers on a $300 TV. I output the TV through my receiver stereo speakers and the sound is much much better.
As a computer monitor this TV really excels. Resolution is consistent with what you’d find on a standard widescreen monitor, so there’s no blurriness common with outputting a signal through a standard CRT. Also after several LCDs over the years this is my first with no dead pixels. Great job to ViewSonic on quality control. I haven’t tried gaming yet, I probably wouldn’t push it anyways, but DVD movies output just as if I had a DVD player hooked up to the TV directly. Just perfect all around as a monitor, though if you use Windows I suggest switching the theme to one that allows extra large fonts if you find yourself squinting.
5 Stars Good deal!
The only beef I have with this product is the lack of easy connections. Everything is on bottom requiring tipping the TV over in order to connect anything. I really like the ability to adjust the viewing aspect on the remote, easily adjusting between 4:3 and wide-screen modes. For the price, this unit is great! I would have given it “6″ stars if the connections for additional sources had been more convenient.
5 Stars Great Tv all arround, but difficult inputs
Every thing about this Tv is Great from picture, sound, good surround sound, menu feature and good monitor with size. The only thing is how to hook up the differnt inputs. You have to do little bending and turnig in order to plug a cable to it in the back.
2 Stars poor sharpness, no definition
After reading the good reviews, I brought this unit couple weeks ago. I am using it for TV only and have it plugged into my Comcast cable. The color is good and natural, the quality of the speaker is so-so but surprisingly, it can be very loud. I use it in the kitchen and have to set it at about 20%; otherwise, it will be too loud.
For no apparent reason, the unit received no signal from the cable after one week. I noticed that when I turn it on, the Viewsonic wallpaper, the three birds appears in grey. I tested it by hooking it up to the PC, same thing happened, no signal from the PC either. But after some plugging and unplugging, miraculously, the color and the signal came back. It’s been another week, so far so good. I hope it is not some loose wire inside the unit that caused the problem.
Anyway, my major complaint is that the picture on this unit has absolutely no definition, I don’t know if it is because I do not have HD channel or what, but the quality of the picture is so blend that my old Samsung box TV’s picture is better. It is especially bad on light color objects, you only see a patch of color and not much more.
