5 Stars A750
Bought this at the beginning of the year. Simply put, buy this screen. You will not go wrong no matter the useage. It brings blue ray to life and makes my old dvd’s look very nice. I plan on having this one for a while despite the recent upgrades to the sreen width and refresh rate.

4 Stars Great TV except it only has one tuner, so no true PIP
This TV is great except it does not have a PIP that can switch between two HDMI inputs. You can not switch between two HDMI sources which should be standard in a $2k HD TV but it is not here. Read more on their web site. You can only watch an RF input while watching TV, playing a video game etc…

5 Stars HDTV IS BETTER THAN DESCRIBED!!! perfect in every way!
This is the very BEST TV that I have ever owned!!!

I am so excited to share a few things with you about my purchase.

DELIVERY:

Delivery was VERY smooth…make sure you get the “white glove” service if you don’t have someone to help you because the box is huge and it takes TWO men to carry it inside. PLUS the delivery men take it out of the box and plug it in and check it to make sure that it didn’t get damaged during transporting. Worth the extra money!

SETUP

I had Dish Tv come and set it up for me because I bought a new HD TV receiver and I am a woman…so better to have Dish do it than me trying to figure it out…however, the connections and the book look very simple after all!

PICTURE SETTINGS V/S FACTORY SETTINGS

The picture is so perfect, that I have never even wanted to adjust it…I think the “factory settings” are PERFECT, and wonderfully bright and clear and I am VERY excited over the picture quality of this Samsung TV.

TOUCH OF COLOR V/S GLARE?

Regarding the “Touch of Red Color”…I can’t even notice any red touch of color at all..it is SO SUBTLE… and there is NO glare or problem with it either in the daylight or the nightlight.

It’s PERFECT…don’t know what others were fussing about!!??

“FIVE DIFFERENT SIZES” of PICTURE…your choice!

Here is something no one has talked about (not in any of the previous reviews):

This is a feature that I LOVE SO MUCH…and that is: You have “Five different” sizes or ways that you can view your picture in! That is right. Here are the following sizes that you can control from your remote (even with my Dish remote):

1. you can use the “normal” size which takes on whatever the show is offering the program in…

2. You can use the “stretch” size which stretches the whole picture from side to side and it does fill out the “whole” screen…

3. you can use the “partial zoom” which “enlarges” the whole picture…

4. you can use the “zoom” size which really

enlarges the total picture on your screen… great if you have company that is sitting further away…

5. You can use the “gray bar” which has an about “4″ gray stripe on each side with the picture in the middle (no gray strips on the top or bottom…and this looks very nice).

The “normal size” picture sometimes fills up the whole screen but sometimes has “black “4″ strips on the sides of the picure (like the gray bars size), but it depends on the program or movie you watch…because the “normal size”

will change with the program…but you can change it to any of the “5 different size settings” with your remote…

I LOVE THIS FEATURE!!! Keeps you from getting bored…but most of all you can try all the different 5 sizes to see

which one makes the picture look the best…LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!…and can’t believe that no one ever mentioned this

in their reviews that I read.

WHY I BOUGHT A SAMSUNG

The reason I bought this brand is because I went to several large stores selling TVs and looked and compared all

their tvs that were displayed next to each other…WOW…the Samsung totally BLOWS ALL the other brands OUT OF THE WATER PEOPLE!!! Go and see for yourself… I had to laugh, that at one store, they had the Samsung tvs and the Samsung Blu-Ray player completely far away from the other brands…or they would probably not be able to sell the others!!! LOL

DO I THINK I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE?

Now I will tell you that I ABSOLUTELY made the BEST choice by buying this Samsung HDTV.

I am in BLISSFUL HEAVEN here all day!!! What an advanced television! LOVE IT!!!

4 Stars It’s all good except for…..
The touch of Red. There is no touch of red except for the red plexi glass around the frame. No function. Just plastic. Too many functions that have no or little use unless you don’t have a computer. All that doesn’t mean much though. The picture is excellent. It really is astounding to see the difference between my 40″ Magnovox. I had no concept of how bad the picture was until I got my new 52″. Old movies look like they were re-shot. Love it.

1 Star Samsund LCD Tv
TV worked great for three weeks, then the screen stopped working. They came and fixed it a few weeks later, still didn’t work. Then they wanted to come fix it again. Had to argue for a replacement, still haven’t received one 6 weeks later. THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They did nothing in terms of service recovery.

5 Stars What A Deal!
This was to replace an old CRT in the bedroom. Perfect dimensions for the space I had to work with. Good port availability (OK, would have appreciated two HDMI ports, but hey…) and ease of setup for a fantastic picture. More surprising was the robust sound produced by the forward-facing, stereo speakers. I have had the displeasure of hearing some other units tinny and downright pathetic sound quality (out of some pretty big name brands). I had already planned on having to hook up some external solution, but after hearing it, ended up not running anything extra. Really pleased to date with operation, not one problem to report. For the price and size this was one really great deal!

5 Stars Works as advertised!
I ordered the set based upon two five star reviews, and they were spot on. I don’t have it connected for HDTV in the kitchen, but the analog picture is very clear and sharp. There is an interesting optional picture mode which spreads the standard 4:3 TV image across the 16:9 ratio screen so that the center of the image looks pretty normal and the edges are stretched more. This works well for individuals, who are usually center of screen, but not for team sports, where the guys on the edges look even fatter. All in all, a great TV for the money.

5 Stars amazing deal
nice little tv for a great price. i can find nothing to complain about!

3 Stars Decent TV but no HDMI!!
I am satisfied with this tv but I was very disappointed when I found out that I’d been duped. No HDMI inputs on this tv, anywhere! Not even a DVI input. The best you are going to get here is one component input, so unless you have HD cable service that can use component cables for HD, don’t bother with this one. There goes any hope I had of enjoying 720p PS3 blu-ray or upcoverting my SD DVDs on my DVD player. Anyway, over the air HD stations come in crystal clear. All in all, a decent tv for such a low price.

5 Stars Great Kitchen HD TV!
We just bought a new house and needed a new HD TV for the kitchen, so we bought this one. It has worked AWESOME! The picture is great from all angles. The volume is just fine – dishwasher running and everything. The screen is plenty big, too, and we have a pretty big kitchen. Now we can eat breakfast, do make-up, and pack our lunch while we watch a little news in the morning. I’m very happy with this product!

2 Stars Great TV, but i’ll never buy another Philips product.
I’ll keep this short and sweet.

This TV is really great. It’s worth every penny. If it works.

After having mine for about 8 months, I started having issues very suddenly. There was no power surge, no thunder storm, no dropping it or kicking it or anything of the sort. It just started not turning on. I called tech support and they told me how to fix it: hold down the power button for 15 seconds. Worked great…the first time. After that, I spent 20 minutes figuring out that I had to unplug the power cord for at least 20 seconds and then plug it back in before it would turn on again. I called Philips tech support again, and they told me they would send me a “new or refurbished” replacement. 8 days later, I received it, and opened it to find a horribly beat up, scratched and wobbly replacement. I immediately called Philips again and told them that it was absurd for them to send me a beat up replacement for my nearly-mint-condition TV (aside from THEIR manufacturing error with the power supply). I was told I would have to just live with it because Philips considered “cosmetic issues” unworthy of consideration, begging environmental conservation as their excuse. Why they can’t just sell these crappy refurbished models to knowing consumers is beyond me.

Long story short, after 8 months of treating my property with care and consideration, Philips gave me the shaft and despite the issue being their own fault as a manufacturer, repaid my patronage with a shrug of apathy.

4 Stars After Firmware Upgrade – A Fine Small LCD TV for the Price
After my previous 13 inch Sharp LCD TV died recently, I was in the market for a new small LCD TV for the kitchen. After shopping around I purchased the Philips 19PFL3504D/F7 19 inch LCD HDTV from a B&M Target store; this is the same TV available here either from Amazon itself or sold through Amazon by target.com/ITC. IMHO this set competes with other 19 inch sets such as the Toshiba 19AV600U 19-Inch 720p Portable LCD HDTV, Black and Samsung LN19B360 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV, Black, which cost $45 to $80 more than the price I paid for the Philips. (Due to reliability / customer service concerns I did not consider any of the numerous no-name or store brand TVs available.)

First things first, at present the Philips requires a firmware upgrade (available at the Philips website) to eliminate an annoying high-pitched hum that occurs when the TV is powered off. If you have a computer and a USB flash drive this is an easy fix. Hopefully this will not be required on future shipment of the TV.

Setup of the Philips was very straightforward, and includes a guided setup which displays several test images and has the user select their brightness / sharpness / color preferences. This appears to be a faster way to get a decent picture than having to manually guess what backlight / sharpness / brightness / color / tint settings are needed. Of course these manual adjustments are available if needed. After 20 minutes to initially scan analog / digital channels, the TV was ready to go. The QAM tuner was able to pick up all of the digital cable channels (SD and HD) present; due to the distance from broadcast towers I could not check OTA performance. Unwanted channels can be “skipped” via the Setup menu.

The HD picture was excellent, with a bright picture, saturated colors, and good contrast. The SD picture was obviously a step down, but analog and digital SD channels were reasonably good. There are several options to present SD content stretched to fill the screen, but I preferred to stay in Normal mode and leave black bars on the side for SD content. The sound of the unit is fine, even though I was surprised to see that the speakers are located on the bottom of the TV (the pictures on Amazon make it look like these are front facing speakers). I had no issue getting adequate volume out of the speakers, and the sound quality is good considering the small size of this TV.

The Philips tilts forward a bit and tilts backwards a bit more, which is useful if viewing the TV from above or slightly below. The horizontal viewing angles are very good, no real degradation of the image when standing to the left or right of the TV. Viewing from above is OK up to about 45 degrees. Viewing from way below can become a problem, so if mounting this TV high up (say on a wall mount) make sure you can tilt it down towards the viewer. (Note: most TVs I looked at locally exhibit the same issue when viewing from below – some at a much smaller angle than the Philips.)

The Philips includes 2 HDMI inputs, component input, S-video / composite input, and VGA input. There is both a digital audio jack (coax) and headphone jack. Other standard features include sleep timer, parental controls, and sound equalizer. The two features I wish this TV had was a channel label feature (particularly useful to label the myriad digital channels this TV now picks up) and some type of Favorites feature to quickly tune to certain channels; the Toshiba mentioned above has these features at a higher price. I also have some concern over the long term reliability of this TV, as older 19 inch Philips models have some reliability complaints on here. I’ll update this review if needed (hopefully not).

In summary, after using this set for a while I would say that this is a fine TV for the price, particularly if you are able to get the unit on sale. It is missing a few features from higher priced Toshiba and Samsung offerings, but has fine picture and sound at a price competitive with the no-name brands.

5 Stars Good news Phillips TV
I was looking fo a small, quality TV for my workshop. I also wanted one that would double as a computer monitor. This TV does both just fine. In my area, rabbit ears do not do very well, so I am using an outside antenna and I get a very good picture. The built in speakers are just that, speakers.
